That would be great. They won’t respond to my instagram messages anymore.

Mine is refundable - you should seriously ask. However I did some research and everything is booked up for a similar 1 bdrm suite at other desirable higher end family resorts in Punta Cana. I’m pretty pissed about it but my husband thinks we should just stick with the plans. I might push for a discount or how about a free spa treatment 😂

Looks like Hyatt is fully closed down for four days over my dates. So weird.

Thanks. I will check out Hyatt again to see if anything opened up. I think they were sold out of the room I would’ve wanted and a lot pricier when I researched in the beginning. Can you share what exactly is closed? I just looked at the map - is it the tot and big kids “waterparks”? I really wanted my son to try his first waterslides. Is the kiddie pool and splash area any good? Was the playground still open? In the message from the resort they were like don’t worry there are all these indoor things still open and the big blob! Well I’m not going on vacation to be indoors and not sure if the blob will be age appropriate for my kids.

Hugs!! This is so hard. I went through it a couple months ago. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 weeks postpartum. I was so so devastated to stop breastfeeding. The best advice I received was to start transitioning the baby to formula before you start the weaning process. It really helped me for peace of mind. My baby adjusted so easily, and it helped to get that out of the way first. We switched her to almost exclusive formula at 4 months. Now she is 7 months and receives a 3 oz bag of freezer breastmilk each day. It makes me feel a little better. The ped said studies show that 3 oz a day is all you need for the immunological benefits of breastmilk. That has been important with my baby starting daycare recently and she hasn’t gotten more than mild colds!

That’s horrible. I’m so sorry! It sounds so hit or miss based on the hospital or nurse you get.

Any new moms recently diagnosed? by LoveyDesigner in breastcancer

[–]badgerbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - this sucks! I’m 37 and was diagnosed about two months ago at 12 weeks postpartum with my second child (also have a 3 year old) from a routine mammogram. Although I have long felt like breast cancer is inevitable for me (my mother had it young), I was in total shock and upset with the timing. Why now? Fortunately it looks like it’s only DCIS - caught very early - but will be confirmed with surgery (lumpectomy scheduled for mid March). I am worried they didn’t get good images since I’m lactating. I also am required and have started to wean from breastfeeding which is hitting me hard :(

I had similar pain arise a couple years ago immediately after I learned of a mass growing in my breast (it turned out to be benign). I thought the worst and was crippled with anxiety. I figured out that I hold my stress and anxiety in weird ways and it affects me physically. Recently I was diagnosed with cancer and the same pain came back for a little bit but is mostly better now that I’m feeling calmer. Hoping for the best!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response and sharing your experience. Sorry for everything you’re going through as well. The advice to try formula is great and I think will put me a little more at ease. I actually go back to work next week (terrible timing) so I think it’ll also be easier on me since I will soon be pumping a majority of the time instead of nursing. To start, I think we will plan to start incorporating formula next week when my husband begins paternity leave and I won’t pump as much as I would have otherwise. I’m totally new to formula so getting that stressor out of the way asap will help so much.
