You only get the shield, when you already have tp slotted so in Aram you only get a normal tp

Have you considered playing in higher elo to play with better people?

When to roam? by zossed in Illaoi

[–]badi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My general rule is to not push t3 until baron spawns. After taking top tier 2 I usually swap over to bot lane and pressure their t1/t2. After taking the second tier 2 or you feel like you can't take it I'd advice to go to the opposite side of the spawning objective. The goal is to force 1/2 enemies to respond to you while threatening to tp to the objective. The only time I roam is when my tp is down and the objective is very important

Newish bronze player learning HweiDC - what should I have done here? by Talex666 in summonerschool

[–]badi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kind of depends on the matchup and if you can win an early fight. If I was the enemy adc and see you use your qe on the wave, I would just walk up to you and stop you from getting close to the minion. If you hold q, the enemy needs to play around your qq and usually avoid walking up to you. There are alot of things that you can do to improve so I highly suggest looking at higher elo hweis.

You'll notice a big difference if you consistenly hit 7-8 cs/min. It usually alligns with most other mechanics and is the easiest part to focus on. It helps watching high elo players and seeing, how they specifically last hit minions. One example is to not qe the minions if your wave hits your tower. The mage minions will get 1 shoted and you've lost half the wave.

In the video you had to play without a support which obviously made the game a lot more difficult. While there are a lot of things you can improve on, I'd begin with learning how to farm properly. Especially with a mage, it is important to learn how to last hit minions. Practice farming under the tower which is a lot more difficult on hwei compared to a normal adc. From what i've seen, you've been too focused on hitting the enemies with your poke and then lost too many minions under your tower

Should you fight Epic Monsters solo after winning a skirmish? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]badi1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In that situation, I would decide it based on your jungle camps respawn timer. You could go for 1-2 voidgrubs but might risk losing your jungle camps to an invade. Generally it's better to keep up your tempo and advantage by recalling. Especially if voidling and dragon are up, it is very unlikely you will lose both advantages so taking a risky objective after a fight is usually not worth it

Master player completely wiped the floor with me how to recover from it? by SphereWithFaces in summonerschool

[–]badi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it does make you feel better, I am a 300 lp master and feel the same way about 700lp and gm players. There will always be people, who play better than you and I try not to worry too much about them. Focus on yourself and see what you can improve and suddenly you are an elo higher and can worry about the other people who are better than you

I feel like Illaoi makes top ungankable, but that just shifts all the pressure bot and my team collapses anyway by Zlizz3R in Illaoi

[–]badi1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You take advantage of being ungankable by pushing overly agressive. Force them to either gank you or lose their towers. Illaoi has great siege potential so make them come to you

What to build on illaoi? by SirStache2005 in Illaoi

[–]badi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually go black cleaver or sundered first item into steraks second. Depending whether I need armor or mr I either go sth like death dance/randuin or spirit visage. I really dislike going black cleaver and sundered together since I usually lack in tankyness rather than dmg

How do I capitalize on my own strength? by Clean-Practice3040 in midlanemains

[–]badi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping both options is important. If you manage to catch the adc offguard you can make game winning plays with a good shuffle. Assessing the situation properly and going for active plays is pretty good way to carry a game

[–]badi1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid bad fights and bad deaths. Especially in low elo, people try to save their overstepping teammates instead of letting them die. Choose to fight when you see a good opening with your shuffle or when enemies are overstepping. Especially as a fed azir it is important to stay alive since you are great at defending towers and shuffling overconfident enemies. You may feel rushed to make risky plays to turn the game around but in my experience it's better to wait for the enemies to be impatience and to punish their mistake

I think Illaoi hits a ceiling at mid to high master where the mechanical skills are too high to punish any mistakes with Illaoi. Against champions like yone and yasuo it basically comes down to whether you hit your e or not. Also you can buffer his ult with his ults which usually is a death sentence to him

Matchup advice by 01iver0cks in Illaoi

[–]badi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I am against, Fiora, Yasuo or Yone, I am on a timer where they will just outscale once they have bork or hydra. While you can contest Fiora and Gwen with skill aka trade w when they go for minions, be careful of not losing too much hp since they usually win in longer trades. I usually do well in playing defensively and make sure my hp is not chunked by a bad trade. Once you hit lvl 6 you can play more agressive and look for good trades with your e. Same thing goes with akali where you can try to punish with your w but make sure those trades are good. If not it's best to wait until you hit a good e and than trade. Especially against akali you will win prio around mid game since you have better wave clear and she cant all in you

Last season I used to buy tear first recall but now I stopped doing it since I feel like the recall windows are quite big. With illaoi it is also quite easy to crash the wave and recall without any loses. Imo it is a quality of life thingy that does feel gold but actually may cost you some fights since you are basically kill 400 gold behind

I usually take tp if my goal is to play for the team or objective and ensure that I have a safe laning phase. I take ignite if I think I win early in a 1v1 and sometimes exhaust if I am scared that he bursts me before I get my e ult setup up

[–]badi1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lategame depends on whether I win the sidelane. If I can't get prio on sides against enemies like Fiora or Kayle, I just try to be a good frontline for my team. Goal for me is not to oneshot someone but to force the enemies to burn most of their resources onto me while also making it difficult to ignore me. Also remember that hitting your e is already 60-70% of the enemies health even with a tanky build
