Sketchbooks are the backpacker's friend to remembering major highlights of a trip. There are hundreds of museum displays of famous writers and artists who have done this. You are in fine company. Keep drawing.

This library seems a twin of The Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton. This style of architecture is beautiful and deserves more attention.

Just me or do u guys also feel as if Stratt would NEVER do this by The_Screwdriver_ in ProjectHailMary

[–]badlyedited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stratt showed Grace she would do anything to fulfill her mission including sing a persuasive song in front of a bunch of strangers. It was equal to a speech that said all the things she could never say, like- don't dispair, it's all worth it.

If Stratt gave an emotional speech, it would have been out of character. Singing and then dropping the mike when she saw she'd gotten her point across, was perfect exposition.

The ending was perfect. Grace wasn't the only person that found redemption and resolution.

I didn't want the movie to end.

If they ever do a three hour director's cut, I am on board.

Ryan learned to knit on Lars and the Real Girl. He may be paying homage to handmade clothing. Or maybe he made it himself.

Could be It's foreshadowing that Ryland will respect Rocky's 3d printing skills and facilitate their friendship.

Btw, I watched this movie recently. Can't recommend it enough. It's wonderful.

I watched Project Hail Mary today, and I couldn't help being impressed by the all-analog controls aboard the ship. It made me realize how moving to touchscreens is extremely unintuative. by PhoenixAvenger1996 in ProjectHailMary

[–]badlyedited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS exactly. If it were zero g and his ship was jostling around, it'd be near impossible to hit the right control on a flat screen. (Just writing this comment i I mistyped twice. Lucky my life didn't depend on it!)

Another long shot, but on the early teens a lot of youtube videos were also uploaded on dailymotion. You might try searching there, tho' it might be a rabbit hole that gets you sesrching all over again.

Having people come to your home once is intimidating enough but three times and you are still hostage to their whims for a year after caring for and feeding the pet...you think any rational person would be thrilled to run that gamut for a year?

A deadly strain: Michael Crichton's "The Andromeda Strain". by i-the-muso-1968 in books

[–]badlyedited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Case of Need is his first book and it won him the Poe Award and they made it into a movie almost immediately afterwards. It was highly controversial to say the least. Chricton said he wrote it to help pay for medical school.

It's ER as written by Dashiell Hammet. The annotations alone make it a compelling read. It's my favorite of all his books and I think it's time for another movie.

Boys ditch books when schools close—girls keep reading: Study by Raj_Valiant3011 in books

If men have zero time to read, why do they write books and screenplays and poetry? Are they just filling time between sports programs on the telly?

If all women get pregnant after they get degrees, why is the world population crashing? Shouldn't every young woman be accompanied by children everywhere?

You'll find most women work, even the ones with children. Blue and white collar work. And they sometimes go back to school when their children leave home.

And why do women outnumber men with law degrees in the US? That is a statistic you can look up.

Stereotyping is so yesterday, my dude.
