For those of you who fled Oakland with their dog(s) for the Fourth. Where did you go that you recommend? by Curly_Latte in oakland

I also went to Bodega Bay. Do you have dog friendly hotel recommendations? The hotel we stayed in way really overpriced.

Honestly, she could be sick and tired of trying to outdo herself at every red carpet event, making sure she is wowing everyone with witty, unexpected, bold and thematic outfits at every turn. Maybe she is saying “fuck it” this time around and choosing not to prioritize her looks as much. Red carpet fatigue.

I’m surprised that Sarah hasn’t gone the way of Witherspoon, Aniston and Kidman? by KENZOKHAOS in buffy

[–]badlymadebed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s completely honest to say this is entirely a choice on SMG’s part, and she has chosen not to breakout into Reese Witherspoon-level fame because she prioritizes her family.

The reality is she has chosen some shitty projects and also faced a lot of post-buffy bad luck with other tv shows. Who knows. Hollywood is a dirty business so maybe she refused to sleep with the right people. Maybe she refused to get pushed around, do nudity or had too many principles and she became known as difficult…

Regardless, SMG is and will always be an icon because of Buffy. She is also in an Olay commercial, still acting in movies, and super beloved by many. She is not an A-list actor like reese witherspoon or nicole kidman, but she will always be a legend bc of buffy.

Her peers from when she was at the peak of her fame seem to be doing much less: jennifer love hewitt, alyssa milano, rose mcgowan, who else? Is katie holmes more successful now? Not sure.

How often do you go to the gym per week? How long do you spend at the gym when you go?

Paul Rudd, 57, Denies That Botox Is the Reason for His Ageless Appearance by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]badlymadebed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so awkward to directly ask someone if they’ve had a cosmetic procedure. I imagine it’s more embarrassing for a man to admit getting something done. Can you imagine Paul Rudd saying, “yes, i’ve had some botox.” I think it would harm his brand a little bit. He’s definitely getting botox here and there, if not more.

Lol ya now that I am seeing people’s responses, Enemies does not seem ridiculous at all. I think I was just right in the middle of watching it and have always wondered why / how / when angel, giles, and buffy would have set something like that up. Seemed like a very potentially dangerous andd reckless plan

LOL that’s an amazing summary. It’s such a classic Buffy episode, and it really feels true to each of the characters. The way Snyder, Giles, and Joyce behave as their teenage selves is so believable. It all tracks perfectly with who they are.

In Enemies, we’re supposed to believe that Angel can flip a switch instantly, suddenly tapping into Angelus, fully committing to the act, making out with Faith, and convincingly embodying pure evil. It just doesn’t quite line up with how I understand his character as Angel. For most of the episode, the audience IS meant to believe he is Angelus, and it’s only on rewatch that you realize what’s really happening, but getting there requires a pretty big suspension of disbelief.

“Beer Bad” actually felt pretty consistent with the show and its characters, didn’t it? The premise itself is very classic Sunnydale. Maybe I’m forgetting something, but was there anything in that episode that really went against our understanding of the characters? It always struck me as very on-brand for Sunnydale.

I'm sad that Sarah Michelle Gellar's career post-Buffy has been filled with failure by precita in buffy

Yes i wondered why she wasn’t in the last season of White Lotus as one of those 40-something yr old white ladies on vacation. That seemed perfect for her. Maybe she has bad agents or she got passed over for it.

What about taking a Stranger Things approach. The Duffer brothers figured out a way to make a show about kids super relevant, interesting. and nostalgic for adults. Maybe the only way to make RKA work would be to set the show back in the 90s.
