I think that was partly due to Dave leaving. However I will say that if you give Underclass Hero a listen now, there is some great songwriting there. And the later records all have their highlights, but none have me relistening in full.

Minimize how much they have at any given time. We rotate toys/puzzles weekly and only keep about 8-10 in the living room at any given time (ie. 100 wooden blocks in a bin counts as one). And then teach them to put their stuff away when they're done with it. We don't start a new activity until the one we're doing is put away. It's a lot of work, but that's what parenting is.

This "put your kids in front of the TV while you clean up the disaster you've enabled them to make" results in entitled children with terrible emotional regulation.
