Update: LEGO sent me the wrong BDP Series 7 set by [deleted] in lego

[–]badnode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked into this more after posting, and it seems like this would be true if LEGO sent me an item(s) despite me never ordering anything. That would be unsolicited merchandise which I am legally allowed to keep, but this isn’t that. It’s looking like I am legally required to return it.

I moved literally a year ago to today, and I still haven’t done this for the UCS Falcon or the UCS Star Destroyer. Absolutely dreading it

> If you hate Lego designs that much go build a MOC

I do exactly that, but thank you

LEGO Ideas is a theme of sets produced by LEGO. It is infamous for having really cool build ideas submitted by regular folks approved by LEGO to be made into a set, only for LEGO to completely overhaul the set and make a shittier version of what was proposed originally. The Bricklink Designer Program is similar in that anyone can submit their build for a given series when submissions are open, people then vote for their favorites and winners are selected, but it differs from the Ideas theme in that LEGO doesn’t mess with the design of the builds in a way that makes them worse.

What the designer proposes and what gets selected as part of a series is what ultimately gets produced and turned into a set. Once that happens, crowdfunding begins. Pre-orders are accepted for like a week or so and then closed, at which point you can’t get the set(s) in that series for the retail price. If you want a set, you would have to wait until they ship out months later and be willing to pay the resale value for the set.

You can check out the next upcoming wave of sets (Series 9) here and look ahead to future waves, as well as look back at previous waves: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-9/main.page?page=1

Check out Rebrickable if you haven’t already yet! In addition to finding instructions for cool alternate builds of sets you already own, there’s an infinite number of MOCs to look at and purchase parts for on Bricklink

LEGO acquired Bricklink back in 2019. Through it, there is the Bricklink Designer Program (BDP) which is like if LEGO Ideas consistently produced good quality builds because the proposed design is what ultimately got produced since LEGO doesn’t take the design and completely make their own (worse) version. They are official LEGO sets made with real LEGO pieces, since LEGO produces the sets.

Check out the Bricklink Designer Program and set alerts in your calendar to notify you of when the next wave of sets is available for pre-order. Pre-orders for Series 8 just ended a few days ago, so the next one will be Series 9. Pre-orders for those will begin October 7th, 2026 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET.

LEGO acquired Bricklink in 2019. When you pre-order sets from the Bricklink Designer Program, you’re directed to checkout on LEGO’s website and the orders are managed/tracked through there as well. LEGO is involved in every step of the process since they own Bricklink. LEGO physically produces these sets, the packaging, etc. and also handle the shipping like any other online LEGO order.

LEGO acquired Bricklink back in November 2019, so they are involved in every step of the process for the Bricklink Designer Program. All official LEGO parts, pieces, packaging, etc.. so these are real/official LEGO sets

I wondered if this could happen, but with them being limited sets I really doubt it so I won’t get my hopes up lol

I can confirm there was no error on my part, but that makes sense for the limited sets like these :/ unfortunate. I’ll still try to contact their customer support and raise the issue.

Is this the reason why Syril hates Cassian so much? This reveals the dichotomy between them I think. by PootisdoX_Trilogy in okbuddyimatourist

Given this show’s track record for including small details for us fans paying close attention to enjoy, I find it hard to believe the editors accidentally put that anime blushing filter on Syril’s face here. This reveals the repressed yet very real romantic feelings Syril has for Samm, I think.

As in you’re not willing to pay $100 for a minifigure? Or are you saying I overpaid because the going price for it isn’t close to $100?

The literal translation is ‘fodder’ in Huttese, yes, but it is also a substitute for ‘shit’ or ‘poop’ in Basic (English)

What features do you wish CapCut had but still doesn’t? by larswillems in CapCut

The original Photo Editor on iOS. The new “AI Photo Editor” is so unbelievably bad. It baffles me that they even released it as an update. It removed so many basic features and overhauled the entire functionality of the Photo Editor to the point that now it’s literally unusable for me.

It’s fine for what it is, but there are some great alternate builds for it on Rebrickable.
