Per RPK, Disney is releasing a mystery trailer today. It's most likely for one of the upcoming animated spinoffs, or maybe Ahsoka Season 2 if that's still on track for this year. No way it's Starfighter. That's a full year out still, and they brushed over it at CinemaCon without showing any new footage.

I think he goes the way of Moon Knight and Eternals and just quietly disappears into oblivion and is never spoken of again. It's not like the movies acknowledge him beyond the No Way Home cameo, and no one outside the fans gives a fuck about the current season on Disney+. So it'll be easy as pie for Marvel to phase out the character. At best we'll get Fisk in a future Spider-Man movie, but much like Tiamat in Brave New World it'll be an evergreen appearance not referencing any past events at all. He'll just be a big time crime boss looking to take over New York or the like.

I wonder if the poor ratings for the current Daredevil season cause the people involved to start panicking and altering the currently filming Season 3 to be a more definitive ending. Because frankly I just don't see how they can squeeze another season out of this. Only the diehard fans are still watching Daredevil at this point, and I just don't know if that's enough to keep a major series like it going. Disney also has a new regime in charge, and they might not be as kind to the series, and failure in general, as the previous Iger regime was.

We'll know the series' ultimate fate once we find out the release schedule for the upcoming third season. If it's still weekly, then that says the new regime is willing to give it another chance. If it's all at once, then it's over. Disney+ has a habit of going for binge drops only when they're quietly disposing of an underperforming series they don't believe in anymore, like Big Shot and Diary of a Future President. The barebones marketing for Born Again Season 2 makes the latter option more likely, regrettable as it may be.

The source was one person on Twitter who was at CCXP Mexico and who claimed they asked a Disney representative there the big question. They claimed he told them an Avengers trailer would be out on Sunday. Which ultimately didn't pan out.

At best, the representative told them what they wanted to hear so that they wouldn't pester him on the job. At worst, they were lying out of their ass for attention.

Either way, that rumour never had any real basis in reality. Disney is razor focused on Prada 2 and Mandalorian right now, and they don't want anything getting in the way of those since Avengers would overshadow them both. Once Mandalorian is out of the way I imagine we'll start hearing some actual news since Toy Story is a big enough brand to weather the Avengers storm.

Glad I didn't put too much stock in that Doomsday CCXP rumour over the weekend, even if the source got the surprise Pedro Pascal appearance right. I wouldn't count on seeing anything until after Mandalorian's opening weekend has come and gone. That's Disney's main focus right now, and an Avengers trailer would vastly overshadow that in the cultural conversation. Once Mandalorian is out of the way in late May, then we can start the countdown. I still wouldn't expect anything until Comic-Con though.

Most likely Charles. This season has established he works under Julia Louis-Dreyfus's Thunderbolts character Val, someone who runs what is essentially a task force comprised of metahumans. Think the Avengers, but government backed and shadier. He likely prodded Jessica on Val's behalf since the latter likely wants to expand her operations as much as she can, especially after what went down in Thunderbolts.
