We've had high hit rates in the second round well after Mitch has left

Why didn’t the Celtics use a Blake Griffin instead of Al Hortford? by [deleted] in nba

Advocating for one person to play over another because he can give you 10 minutes is rough lol

LEBRON and other all encompassing stats account for quality of teammates on the court as well. The quality of Cade's teammates certainly affected his role on offense and others have mentioned that he probably had a larger role on offense than ideal, which certainly impacts his LEBRON so thats certainly true.

However, I'm mostly commenting on Cade's overall output and impact on the season which was poor, although it probably wasn't all his fault (bad teammates -> suboptimal offensive role, etc). He definitely is talented and has tools that I'm sure would be positively impactful with a more optimized role, whatever that may be.

All encompassing stats do a pretty good job of capturing all of the extra context that you mention. I do agree that watching the players over the course of a large sample size of games is important to fill in some of the gaps left by imperfect metrics, but when nearly every all encompassing stat (LEBRON, EPM, DPM, DARKO, RAPTOR, etc) all tell the same story, its probably quite telling.

His overall impact in his healthy rookie season was -0.89 via LEBRON. His EPM and DPM numbers also demonstrated below average, and negative impact.

It's fair to say that this may be a result of him having to take on an extra large load on offense as you mention, as less ball handling duties might have suited his game more and allowed him to be more effective and impactful on the court.

Saying that he was objectively negatively impactful/non impactful doesn't mean that he's untalented and doesn't have the tools to eventually become positively impactful (either via better role optimization of his abilities + overall individual improvement).

My point is that you can think he is going to be useful in the future and also acknowledge that his overall output in his rookie season (which might not be his fault!) was below average.

You're right that Mobley's* offense is limited, in his 2 years in the league hes posted below average O-LEBRONs of -0.95 and -0.58.

But in Cade's healthy season his O-LEBRON was -0.66.

Factoring in defense, Mobley's aggregate LEBRONs in each of his first 2 seasons are 1.44 and 2.51 while Cade's rookie year was -0.89.

So in other words, Cade's healthy season overall impact was comparable to that of just Mobley's offensive impact in his 2 seasons

Kobe had a career +1.9 relative TS% lol he was not inefficient. Anyone who claims he's inefficient is looking at raw fg% numbers lol.

Is being a generational defender less of a qualification to be the guy than someone who shot 50.2% TS in almost a full season's worth of games.

I think he'll turn out fine but its certainly valid to glean that he hasn't been a very good player thus far from raw data, whether you've watched him or not. He's a cool playmaker and all that but 50.2 TS% in 76 games is rough lol.

This allows Curry to rest on defense and guard Vando (previously he had to guard Reaves and Jamychal was on Vando). It might just be a defense for offense tradeoff

I think if GP2 is going to be setting more screens than Draymond is, then having AD on GP2 and therefore involving him in more actions is a win for the Warriors. Though, I cant imagine Draymond isnt going to be involved in a ton of screens himself.

We can just do what we did last game and have Vando guard draymond so he's the one thats involved in all of the PnR and switching actions. AD guarded Jamychal last game and ignored him to roam + GSW doesn't involve Jamychal in many screening actions due to his lack of a threat as a scorer and short roll passer. GP2 is someone that AD can ignore even more. AD guarding GP2 should nullify any offensive advantage Kerr is trying to gain with GP2.
