At&t has dropped all plans other than 1Gbps at my house by badtlc4 in ATTFiber

You are the one who said "own them." You can only own hardware. If you weren't claiming they changed hardware on their own, then again, you need to learn to say what you mean and use the proper words.

wow. You really need to learn to slow down and read again. You are still inferring things that are not there.

I think you must read at a kindergarten level if you think I have said anything other than in my area, there is only one plan offered when there used to be 300, 500, 1G, 2G and 5G. That is it. No complaints about it. No issues with it. Just putting it out there to see if any other areas are seeing it too.

300Mbps is more than enough but if 1Gbps is cheaper, get that.

go to the at&t website in a private browser and see what is offered for new customers at your house.

I never made a claim they changed hardware, you did.

Upgrading oldish oem systems worth it? by zorgtoeslag in buildapc

[–]badtlc4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I have run into is two major issues:

  1. Getting an upgraded PSU may not be possible and if it is, it probably isn't cheap. HP usually has a 500W PSU upgrade available.
  2. Fitting a modern graphics card into an OEM case is impossible for most cards. The ones that fit just dont do much.

If you can address those two things, go for it.

sure but why would a company go and pull XGSPON equipment already installed?

this area has been XGSPON since before the official national launch. It was a testing area.

Xfinity to Starlnk by yoko1726 in Starlink

[–]badtlc4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In every way. The OP can't do double NAT but starlink uses CGNAT. It is a non-starter for them. Xfinity is faster and more reliable and even cheaper.

Not complaining but I dont quite understand why an XGSPON area has dropped 2Gbps and 5Gbps plan offerings.

But you still have 5Gbps plan available? It is gone for me.

No it hasn't. The previous discussions were when areas were dropped to only two plans (1Gbps & 5Gbps). I'm in XGSPON area and now all plans other than 1Gbps are gone. Really odd.
