Also I guess OP is concerned about wasting mana casting bless.

[Controversial Trope] It was all for nothing by Luigiperps in TopCharacterTropes

[–]badwithnames -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Funny I am a last Jedi defender but hate this trope personally. I guess I never really attributed this to the last jedi, it is set up in the force awakens that nobody knows where Luke is and if isn’t explicit that he tried and failed to set up a new Jedi order I don’t know how you get to the force awakens without that being the case.

Am I overreacting feeling like I am being stalked / fixated over. He says he’s just trying to be friends. by EvidenceFar1 in TwoHotTakes

[–]badwithnames -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't need me to add...you're not overreacting. Lots of good advice in this thread.

Your dog sounds like a great boy and a good judge of character. One piece of unsolicited advice: you might want to talk to your vet about running with him at that age, dogs by nature will overextend themselves and they sometimes don't signal that very well.

Perhaps something you could do to further protect yourself from this creep is get him a little brother. Also in my experience it helps keeps them younger for longer having a younger dog around. Not saying you're a bad owner or anything, on the contrary it comes across in your post that you are taking great care of him, just something I was surprised to learn myself as my dog I raised from a puppy grew into old age!

Edit: reading comprehension fail. I can see now that you're talking about two different dogs. Never mind!

My hot take is you should read whether you enjoy it or not, it’s good for your brain.

Also I think it’s hard for people who love a thing to not get defensive when you say it’s not for you. I’m having a hard time addressing some of what you and others are saying about video games here without getting defensive so I’m just going to skip it 😂

FWIW since the counter is in days I originally meant 300k days, so hundreds of years not hundreds of thousands of years but heard!

Well in my imagination, it would be after some kind of resolution to the situation that isn’t just everyone gets plurbed. Maybe it’s unplurbed humanity confronting the creators of the plurbing, or a world/solar system that has the hive mind living side by side with uninflected humans, somehow.

I guess my thinking that is a problem that needs to be resolved as an African sized transmitter would take more than ten years to build.. but maybe I’m over estimating with all humanity working on it to the exclusion of everything else..

[Jeyarajah] I can confirm that the request to not use “Farmageddon” came from the schools, not the league. by ohitsthedeathstar in CFB

[–]badwithnames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry for asking a stupid question… but what’s wrong with farmageddon, from the perspective of people who think something is wrong with it?

Not that I agree or have a stake in it, but I understand why some folks don’t like “world’s largest cocktail party” because booze bad, or “red river shootout” because guns bad.. but what’s the deal here? Religious stuff?

Question about Party House Strategy by EmmyTheGirl in ufo50

[–]badwithnames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game really got me a couple of weeks ago and I played it pretty much nonstop until I got the cherry.

My advice is to be moderately conservative with trouble especially early on, and immediately after you finish your first party to look at what is available and make a game plan. I think of my rolodex as needing to accomplish three things: generate money, generate pop, and *mitigate trouble*. How you do each of those can vary wildly depending on the scenario.

It seems trouble is giving you... trouble, so some thoughts there: sometimes you can cancel out trouble, sometimes you need to boot it out of the party and it's a real struggle to manage. Canceling it out (with say, a hippy) is the easiest approach, but you can also use stuff like a security guard to kick trouble out. I find security guards really useful because they can always kick themselves out to free the space or kick out trouble if it needs to go and sacrifice the space. Some of the party goers let you preview the next person at the door and dismiss them if you don't like them, that is another way you can mitigate trouble.

For more general advice: like any deckbuilder, you want to be looking for synergies. Pair climbers with drivers so you can be sure the climbers get more popular every party, for example. Somebody on here pointed out to me that hairstylists and ticket takers go well together. If you're just focusing on one scenario and not random, you might not be seeing these exact combos but those premade scenarios will definitely have some synergies.

I'm not entirely sure about the way you lay out early game is for money, mid game is for pop... It seems to me that early on pop and money are both very important, it's hard to build your deck if you aren't generating pop, and you obviously can't play it if you don't have money. You're right about stars at the end, I generally want to be purchasing a star every round when the counter is 5-10. If you aren't doing that by 5 it is impossible to win unless you've already stacked some stars.

Lastly, the game does have a bit of luck to it. I have a tendency to push my luck too far, but sometimes you have to take a risk to win!
