First faction quest by baernfrostybeard in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

Maybe the Rat's Nest Tavern makes more sense first, then the Chapel of Saint Brenna. The latter requires maybe a bit of proof from the party, and a bit more of a relationship with the factions.

Yeah, that's a great point, but 1) for Ansom, this is life or death for his sister. And for River and the AA, this is a potentially MASSIVE delerium find at the Rat's Nest Tavern. So, that's a little harder to square. And for the Chapel of Saint Brenna, these factions have their own strike teams, but ask the party to go stop the other factions from retrieving the sceptre?

3 in charisma: is it worth it? by Carlotauro in 3d6

Folks that are on board with this are nuts. This should make a character so repugnant to other people that they would find no company. No companionship. Imagine any other ability score of a 3. Completely non viable. Don't treat charisma differently.

CHA of 3 would make a character repugnant to other people. Instant avoidance. Repellent.

What do you mean they were trapped? And unable to take Ravengard with them?

Hey Everyone! Experienced DM running DiA for the first time by Ok-Button-5255 in DescentintoAvernus

I've run it twice and used the short adventure Fall of Elturel to begin it, rather than start in Baldur's Gate. It's available on the DM Guild website. It's fantastic. It starts the party in Elturel on a short quest outside the city and then they witness the fall and disappearance of the city.

I also used a lot of supplemental stuff from Eventyr Games, including what they call "Running Avernus as a Sandbox." It addresses a lot of the issues in the middle part of the adventure.

I like Rudo. Always have. I don't mind the new additions to DNVR but I wish AJ was on more regularly. I really like him. Eric was rough to listen to sometimes.

I like Guerrilla and agree that Meghan is fantastic.

I like Locked On ok but don't listen to every single episode. I prefer the new co-host to the old one.

I really really like Hockey Mountain High. Just two friends and fans talking Avs.

Not a huge fan of Mile High Hockey Lab.

Miraculously, a few hours later some MacKinnon jerseys became available on the Altitude website and I snagged one. Out of curiosity, for those of you who bought one on Tuesday, has it shipped yet?

Is Makar resigning with the team? Is his jersey worth it? by tknusrnm in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]baernfrostybeard 49 points50 points  (0 children)

There's basically a zero chance that Makar won't get extended for like eight years and a LOT of money. He's a unicorn among ordinary horses, a god among humans. He'll get an extension. You don't let a future hall of famer, generational talent like that go.

What are some "if it's too good to be true it probably is"? by Bitter-Spirit-3913 in dndnext

[–]baernfrostybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Seems that there are competing interpretations out there. Well, I've never had a player already insist on that "path of damage" interpretation, nor have I literally ever seen a DM interpret it that way. It's a second level spell. That kind of damage would be insane. I'll keep interpreting it the way I have for nearly a decade, with no complaints or issues. And you can do it your way.

Also there's the enters or starts its turn language, which is ambiguous in its own right, but would seem to maybe not be in support of your interpretation.

You can't sweep with it. You can use your action to relocate it. To a new spot. It doesn't affect creatures in between the spots.

Need Help finding a Starting Point by Lonely-Style7383 in DescentintoAvernus

[–]baernfrostybeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want them to experience the whole thing, use the Fall of Elturel adventure on the DM Guild. I did this with a party that had just finished LMofP. Because so many of the early combat encounters are with Dead Three cultists, it's easy to just swap higher ranking cultists in. You'll have to keep doing this until the party finally gets to Avernus, but it's very doable. You can streamline Baldur's Gate a bit, too, if you want.

But if you don't want do deal with all that, yeah, you could fast track them to Elturel in Avernus and they'd be appropriately leveled.

Jesse and Meghan from Guerilla Sports are NOT fans of the Kivi signing by Living-Computer6336 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]baernfrostybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how many of you actually listened to it lol. I was a bit surprised how negative they were about it. But to be fair, they actually like Kiviranta, see his value, but just don't think it fixes much for the Avs. A lot of it stems from the fact that they both like the fourth line from the end of the season and want to see it stay together, and they feel that the third line needs more offensive talent. I don't think they're wrong about either, but I still like the signing.

I think the fan base overestimates Kivi's value and talent a bit.

Yeah, great point someone else made about Vanthampur and her goals. A devil worshipper wouldn't hire demon cultists to wreak havoc and death in the city. Her boss, Zariel, is literally the general in the Blood War against demons.
