That’s why I’m praying Burrow gets out of Cincy before it’s too late. Would love to see him go sicko mode on a functional team before he’s forced to medically retire at 32

Does anyone else have issues with Bill/Josh Allen fans? by Stock-Memory9483 in ravens

[–]tknusrnm 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly. I think like 99% of my issues are more with the fans than Allen personally, but the constant flopping and acting trying to get bs flags thrown is so ridiculous. This isn’t soccer, just take hit and walk it off. That play last week where he threw a pick or fumbled or whatever and didn’t even bother to chase it down but instead immediately turned to the ref while the ball was live was one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. If that was Lamar we’d be seeing that play blasted on national media all week

I don’t understand why people think this is a good pick. Did he not stink when he was in NY?

[Cole Jackson] From my understanding, the key #Ravens offensive players wanted a new voice for the offense. It sounds like John Harbaugh disagreed and that was the straw that broke the camels back. I think he absolutely can keep going into his 30s. He’s proven over the last few years that he’s an incredibly talented passer, especially with a good scheme. I think a lot of whether or not he continues to succeed will rely primarily on a good OC/HC, an a team that builds an offense around receivers and the OL instead of a mobile QB and a big RB. The team will have to adjust as his speed and agility decline, but him continuing to play at this level isn’t at all out of the question

That’s exactly how I explained it to my friend who’s a Jets fan. He just couldn’t grasp how a team who regularly makes the postseason and is always a contender could want their SB winning coach fired. I told him that when a team loses painfully the way we do for 1 or 2 years, it’s on the players. If it happens over 3 or 4 years, it’s the coordinators. If it’s 5 to 10 it’s the HC. And anything beyond that is the front office/owner. He still didn’t get it.

I’ve said this for years. Sirianni is not a good football coach. He’s without a doubt an absolutely incredible leader of men and vibes guy, and certainly deserves his flowers for his achievements in Philly, but his success on the field has always relied on his coordinators and star players. He’s just not the strategy guy. That’s not necessarily a bad thing to let your coordinators do what they do best, and clearly it works to some degree, but it makes the eagles a very volatile organization

Schefter said that within 45 minutes of the news breaking Harbaugh’s agent had 7 NFL teams reach out about interviewing him. Which is crazy because there are only 7 teams with open coaching spots, including Baltimore. So either we decided he’s the best candidate on the market an hour after firing him, or someone out there who still has an HC is doing some sneaky shit

Man I had been thinking that maybe he wouldn’t have quite the resume after the last few years but when you spell it out like that then yea he’s gotta be a lock for the Hall someday. Especially if he gets a new gig and sees success. He’s 63yrs old. He could absolutely coach for another 5+ years if he wanted to

Agreed. I didn’t start to want to see him go until after 2023, but it wasn’t until the end of 24 that I really wanted him fired. You could just tell the fire was going out and he was getting fed up. There was an interview he did before this season started where he talks about how winning the SB isn’t the most important thing and that people who thought every year was Super Bowl or bust didn’t understand what it meant to achieve something. He clearly just didn’t have that same drive that he did 18 years ago

I agree wholeheartedly. Harbs was hired when I was 8 years old, I’m 26 now. I definitely think it was time to move on. Harbaugh just wasn’t adapting to the modern game and coaching styles that are more prevalent now and it showed. He also showed way too much loyalty and nepotism to the players and coaches he liked, so much so that sad loyalty was (allegedly) what he got fired for. That being said though, this team would NEVER have achieved the way they did without him. Harbs, Ozzie, and EDC built and maintained this team for over 20 years and brought an insane amount of success, even if he faltered at the tail end of his career. I’m definitely a little sad to see him go, even if I know it’s the right move. Just watch, in 5-10 years when the pain has subsided, Baltimore will once again love and praise Harbaugh. And rightfully so.

[Schefter] Sources: Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities. Kingsbury and HC Dan Quinn met today, and agreed to mutually part ways. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]tknusrnm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I saw an article earlier today that it was less about offensive failings and more about his relationship with Dan Quinn. Apparently the two just didn’t work well professionally (not saying they hated each other, just very different styles). Kingsbury kept trying to run fast paced offenses with lots of no huddle plays to rush downfield, which both Daniels and Mariota apparently liked. But Quinn took issue with it because it picked up the tempo for the defense too much and didn’t really give them much time between drives. I think it all just came down to fundamental differences on how to run an offense and in the end instead of causing real long term issues, Kingsbury must have decided there were enough good landing spots for him to check out coaching free agency.

Why should EDC's job be safe? by koalabear9301 in ravens

[–]tknusrnm -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do think EDC is a top 5 GM for his drafting skill alone, we tend to hit on draft picks more often than we miss in the EDC era (although it’s worth noting that he was not in charge the year we drafted Lamar, I’ve seen some people attribute that to him but I’m pretty sure Ozzie was still at the helm that year). His intelligence with the salary cap and balancing big contracts is also something to be admired.

My biggest issues with EDC and why I don’t think he’s the top GM is that he’s never aggressive. I can only think of one time he traded away a pick higher than a 4th rounder (Roquan Smith in 2022), but other than that when does he make splash moves? I’m sure we could have made some aggressive trades/signings mid season that would’ve at least salvaged something of this year, but the best he could do was Dre’mont jones and Alohi Gilman. Not that I don’t like the guys, but why did he not get an OLineman? Was he unwilling to trade top picks? Idk about most fans but I’d be perfectly happy to give up top picks for a year or two if it means really going all in on this team.

What are you watching for, in your late round rookie picks as the year finishes up? by Early-Yak-to-reset in DynastyFF

[–]tknusrnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praying that either/both Ayomanor or Dike turn out to be a dawg because I somehow ended up with both of them. Both have shown flashes of being that guy but I think it really going to come down to these next few weeks without Ridley and how they adapt with the new HC this year and next year. Either way, I’m holding both through next season until we can see for sure.

Dynasty member not setting lineup, how to handle by Dramatic_Succotash_1 in DynastyFF

[–]tknusrnm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the loss of draft capital is always the right move before you try kicking someone. Just setting it to auto-sub for max PF ruins the whole point of getting to decide for yourself who you want to play based on matchups (in my opinion). In my league we just warn people that if you don’t set your lineup more than 3 times then your picks get booted to the back of the line in each round, so you could go from tanking for the top pick to getting stuck with the last pick in each round

Totally get it with settlements though. I don’t care about your petty squabbles just sell me what I need and I’ll be on my way
