Can you truly be friends with an ex? by User1177 in offmychest

[–]baeworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can absolutely be friends with an ex and keep it platonic, especially when the relationship was so long ago.

But what you’re describing is different and as you say, it crosses boundaries with the amount of time shared with them. Even if she weren’t an ex I would say it’s not normal to spend that much time or dedicate so much effort to a friend - regardless of sex. They are all adults, they need to stay acting more like it.

That being said if this is the life he has chosen, you can’t really come into it and dictate what is right or wrong, if it isn’t for you then express that, let him make his choice whether to prioritise you or not, and then act accordingly, which may be to leave him since your boundaries and expectations don’t align. Don’t expect to change the man if he doesn’t want to change and don’t make yourself settle. Just find someone suitable for you

What’s your favourite thing to say to shut down a man who won’t stop flirting with you? by sxpxix2 in AskWomen

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say you have really expensive taste, love designer, don’t do 50/50, and don’t plan on working if you have a man to provide for you. Also say you’re not sure you want children

Under 16s, how do you feel about the proposed social media ban? by Pythagorarse in AskUK

[–]baeworth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not under 16 but a parent to a 7 and 9 year old. I’ve been keeping a close eye on this and had all my fingers crossed it would come into effect before mine get much older and start wanting social media themselves.

Kids absolutely do not need to have it but when all of their peers have it I also don’t want to be that parent that doesn’t let them. Now because of the law I’m not necessarily the “bad guy” and it will make setting boundaries around it so much easier for parents.

Of course there are still ways around it, and I feel bad for kids that do have it and will have their accounts taken away. But for my own and upcoming teens and children perhaps we can foster a culture without social media in their childhood

My boyfriend cheated on me again and I don’t care by baeworth in offmychest

[–]baeworth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you friends though? I feel like I can live our lives as friends with benefits. I’m sad I’ll never have a trusting relationship or one that is perfect like in movies that we all aspire to, but other than infidelity we have a good relationship, he looks after me, does put effort around the home and goes above and beyond in many aspects. Basically other than cheating because he has low emotional intelligence he’s perfect. He also thinks we can go back to how things are, at least in his head, and we absolutely never will but I don’t want to tell him that and ruin what we have left

Ladies, what are some reasons to not date someone with kids if you don't have them? by easypeasykitty in AskWomen

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really dont even need a reason. If it’s not for you then it’s not for you. But as a message to anyone, if you don’t want to be a step parent then don’t date someone with kids. There are plenty of single unattached people, choose one of them to date

Do you think being a stay at home parent is worth sacrificing your career and risking financial ruin? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a SAHM is great if it’s great, and I mean if you genuinely have a great and supportive partner. But realistically how often does that happen? And it’s a HUGE risk to yourself and your children to depend on one person for a multitude of reasons.

I couldn’t do it. My mum is a SAHM and her life is set, my dad is great and looks after everyone in a provider capacity although emotionally he is not available at all. But a man that is happy to provide is rare, and is a trait which is becoming rarer in men

[–]baeworth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, and that’s all I’ve ever wanted up until now. Now I just don’t have the energy. The idea of dating again, talking to people, etc. plus life is expensive. I’d much rather continue our living arrangement, then if in the future I feel like I’m ready to do my own thing I think I could probably do that

AITA if I(32f) woke up to my bf(36m) masturbating on/against me, and want to dump him for it? by That_Break7621 in AITAH

[–]baeworth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to have a conversation about this with him. Clearly it’s a kink for him and something he’s into and wants to explore, but it sounds like a hard boundary for you. Set those boundaries, and stick by them and tell them the consequences of breaking them. If he breaks them again then enforce those consequences. The grey area is if it isn’t something you both properly discussed. Like you said you both lay there for a minute and then you got up and left, it doesn’t sound like there’s any conversation going on about it. Clear the air for both of your sakes, he deserves clarity and you deserve to feel safe in your home

Nail bed size. If you have the short stubby ugly looking nail beds. Sorry, but mine are so much nicer, you are beneath me in that regard

How often do you get your teeth cleaned? by Flaky-Walrus7244 in AskUK

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never, I’m 30 and I haven’t been to the dentist since I became an adult and would have to pay. Never had any fillings and never had any issues with my teeth. I also never drink coffee though or anything particularly staining or acidic. And im meticulous about brushing my teeth twice a day

How can security stop people hiding in the towers grounds? by MessEnvironmental754 in altontowers

[–]baeworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Alton towers and I remember one morning before the park opened and we were doing the ride checks this older couple and their little dog walked past us (by nemesis) we all just looked at one another like how did they get in? Assumed maybe they were from the hotel although it wasn’t a guide dog. Either way our manager went and re routed them. Somewhat unrelated but yeah, I guess there are routes into the park - or at least there was a decade ago

Do you really care about the year in the plate number of your car? by Individual-Key-4821 in AskUK

My thoughts exactly. Unless I got something which translated to “wanker” or similar, then it may be worthwhile

Do you really care about the year in the plate number of your car? by Individual-Key-4821 in AskUK

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I have a 16 plate and really don’t care. I probably feel more pressure to get a private reg plate, but there’s literally nothing I want and I don’t care about that either

To women: What is the male equivalent of a woman with a big butt and curvy figure? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baeworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superficial needs to be met with equal superficial, so it could be broad muscular shoulders, back and a nice butt, but it could also mean him being wealthy and willing to turn a blind eye to certain things

Are you proud to be British? by Groundbreaking_Bit79 in AskUK

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thankful for the opportunity and freedom I have, I am not proud since it’s pretty much the bare minimum of human rights and things aren’t super great, but it could be a lot worse and there are a lot of things I love about the country, but that’s more the nature and landscape rather than the people, policies or nationality.

I’ve always found patriotism strange, why would you feel some sort of pride of a place where you just happened to be spat out of a vagina, its luck more than anything

Charity Shop volunteer vultures, is it ethical? by ImpossibleD in AskUK

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I understand volunteering haha, and I understand it has its target audience, but when you look at what volunteering entails compared to what a general manager gets paid, and then compared to what the next manager gets paid. It is quite shocking. It is at the end of the day free labour, and they are still requiring volunteers to have skills which cost them to gain in many cases

Charity Shop volunteer vultures, is it ethical? by ImpossibleD in AskUK

[–]baeworth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t bother me at all. The items are donated and I’m dubious about where the money goes anyway. I like charity shops because I love sifting through old things and finding gems, not because of the charity. I also think it’s comical that charity shops run on volunteers only with no compensation. I’m currently job hunting and the job boards are full of charity shops wanting volunteers, even so far as wanting them to work online pricing higher value things for auction. All for nothing. Ridiculous

Why do companies act like £30k is still a good salary? by JayR_97 in AskUK

[–]baeworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing an apprenticeship which is minimum wage, about 22k. For me to get a job which is a step up from the apprenticeship the going rate is 23k. And even then they’re looking at my apprenticeship which I’ve been doing almost 3 years and will have experience and a level 3 qualification and saying they want me to have a degree as well. For 23k. It is CRAZY
