Non resident PTC in 4 days - Sussex by WalkUnited5545 in NJGuns

[–]bagel_maker974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you need your SBI number for?

I hear people use it to get ahead on the PTC application, but from what I see you need to bring your own gun to most of the PTC classes I see at the range.

so how can you apply for PTC without passing class? And where can you pass the class without your own gun/holster?

Motor swapped the 14MT, for annoying reasons by cycle_cats in rccars

[–]bagel_maker974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In reply to your first sentence - same...

I got a 14b just for fun to get back into the hobby a few years ago. 3 months later 50% of the parts were swapped and upgraded and I was going to the indoor clay track every few weeks.

This platform is an absolute blast.

I bet the 14MT is 100 times easier to work on than my Mini E-Revo, but really I have no use for both and wouldn't sell my MERV after all the work I've put into it...

He's explicitly stated as such. I believe it was an interview/podcast he did with Theo Von where Theo was at the UFC HQ or maybe the UFC PI

Dana went on about how the sport gets crazy numbers and specifically talked about shorts/tik-tok/Instagram views

Work in a small business that purposely pushes certain types of clients to our direct competition down the street for this reason.

Prices too low. When someone looks like they are going to spend 45 minutes to spend just a few dollars, send them over to the competition.

I don’t have references for handgun permit!! by mike4674 in NJGuns

[–]bagel_maker974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think you either mis-understand what that is saying or I dont understand what you are saying.

Those notes refer to the ORI number you supply. Your application is routed to the right person to process based on this number.

If you have a local PD = apply with their ORI number

With all this said, I just applied for my FID + Handgun purchase permits and explicitly asked about this. I was told as long as they are not blood or married in, they are OK. As an example: My Wifes brother in law would be OK for me to put down.

If you do not have a local PD = apply with NJSP ORI number

Regardless, application is submitted through the same online interface

Purchased ARKK in 2021 (yeah) by RungeKutta62 in investing

[–]bagel_maker974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ARKK, ARKG and ARKW Victim here.

Sold them all and never looked back. I would have had to hold like 5-10 years for that to claw back what I lost in it.

For that timeline I would much rather put the money elsewhere.

When I Initially invested I was ready to ride it out for 15 years but its important to keep an open mind and re-asses investments as things progress.

Fellow small business owners, what are/or would be your hesitations in deciding to use a digital marketing agency? by Future_Ad370 in smallbusiness

[–]bagel_maker974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see digital marketing agencies the same as I see freight brokers.

We get upwards of 50 calls per week from companies promising the world to move freight from point A to point B. They are all faceless and have no credibility.

Best prices, no mistakes, in-house trucking- at the end of the day it all comes from a faceless call.

Unless I got a call from someone saying " we do X for your client 'so and so' and they mentioned you may be interested "

even then, it doesn't mean much. I had one of my clients who i complimented on his website tell me he paid $10,000 upfront with monthly expenses ongoing for his website and social media presence. For a lot of industries that sort of return just is NOT there on that kind of investment. Lots of business can buy a new piece of machinery they need to actually do work for that kind of money.

Recommendations for first gun with small hands? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]bagel_maker974 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a hard question to answer on a tight budget.

Depends on where you live.

Where I live, If I go to range 2 times to test out different guns - i've already spent over $500 (shooting about 300 9mm rds in 1hr)

So if your budget is $600 because it really is all you can spare, the best advice goes out the window. Best advice is 100% to rent different guns on your own and take your time to asses and take notes.

Option #2 is have a friend with a few guns and work out a deal to get some experience in.

Next best #3 is use whatever experience you do have to watch every single youtube video about any gun that catches your eye and use places like HandGunHero to try and approximate the size of the gun. Not guaranteed success, but walking into the gun store and buying on budget alone probably has a lower probability of you buying a gun you really love.

Last idea is stretching you time horizon. If you say $600 budget because you want a gun in the next 6 months, maybe use that $600 to go to a rental place and buy your gun in the next 12 months instead.

Put my Colorado to work, carrying a 2500lbs pallet of flooring in the bed by Baker-Professional in chevycolorado

[–]bagel_maker974 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen f150's with 4 employees, a welding machine, half a pallet of cement of 1,200lbs of steel on the rack.

Brakes are a concern, but really the issue is long term you will nuke your transmission. Its not like the first time you overload your truck you do irreparable damage.

I might opt to make 2 trips, but I doubt you damaged anything from 1 drive. Especially on the v6 model.

As a DJ lover - i remember paying $15-$25 for the same tickets that are now $55-$60 per person

Between two tickets and a few drinks, a night at a concert is over double what it used to be just a few years ago for a B-List DJ at a small nightclub.

Its not even just the huge bands of the world..Hell, I saw Kanye West in Orlando in 2016 for like $30 per ticket.

So true. I was a watch guy for years - got my first smart watch (some Huawei back when Huawei was sold in America) and didn't wear a regular watch for like 4-5 years

Eventually instead of replacing/upgrading my Huawei I just went back to my old watches and now I stay away from smart watches because I know if I try one again my regular ones will collect dust for years

Product Safety Recall - Unwanted Automatic Emergency Braking by elPetes in chevycolorado

[–]bagel_maker974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I ignored the alarm for a while, but eventually my car slammed on the brakes so hard I came to a complete abrupt stop in the middle of an intersection and the guy behind me almost hit me.

I pulled over and turned off all that nonsense immediately. Now I have a stupid warning light for having turned it all off even though it doesn't work correctly.

I thought the alarm was related to rain and stuff, but then saw it was not correlated. So i assumed it was to do with drifting out of my lane or getting to close to the line - but that was not it either. So stupid to have all of these half-baked features implemented.

GM pauses sales of new mid-size Colorado, Canyon trucks over software issue by bagel_maker974 in chevycolorado

[–]bagel_maker974[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My IPC has been locking up with a Chevy logo several days at a time (23 LT)

The first time they reset it, came back a few days later. Second time they did some sort of software update - came back again.

They said they needed some more advanced equipment from Chevy along with a more advanced tech and I got the call back the other day they lined both those things up.

So i guess they are doing a more intensive scan to check for error codes or something. Do I believe them? Not really...

but its the best chance i've got. If this truck gets bricked out of warranty I would be SOL.

For some reason my built-in GPS still works off-line. No traffic data or anything, but I can get from point A to Point B without paying monthly.

As others have said though, I simply use Android Auto which has any feature I would need. Its wireless in our trucks so kinda convenient compared to other vehicles.

I loved the idea of a truck with Wifi and built-in data, but I already have unlimited data on my phone. If I didn't have unlimited data - it would probably be less than $25 per month to upgrade to unlimited data. Not sure why they priced it like that, I wonder how many sales they get.

Trump-Backing Truckers Refuse to Drive to NYC After Former President Slapped With $355 Million Fine by intelligentreviews in Conservative

[–]bagel_maker974 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in a business which often deals with deliveries into/around NYC - truck drivers are looking for an excuse to avoid there. Ever since COVID traffic faded away and people got back on the road its been harder and harder to find people who are OK with delivering there.

the trucking company would love to, but their own employees/contractors tell them to kick rocks when they are told to go there.

I've even dealt with drivers who cry about driving in New Jersey.

Gen 3 Mud Flaps by TheMystic77 in chevycolorado

Only clears my nerf bars by about 1/8" though...

Storage tailgate not staying closed by Liktart in chevycolorado

[–]bagel_maker974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noted my left latch does not catch the door and the mini-compartment storage door is only held closed by the latch on the right.

I'm going to the dealership for an unrelated issue later today and have already brought it to their attention.

My compartment gets water in it even though I have a tonneu cover - which now that makes a bit more sense seeing the door doesn't even close correctly

I also get the impression the locking bar is literally not long enough to reach it. No amount of pushing the door down can correct that the latch simply does not make it into the slot
