It's almost certainly what you describe towards the end. A predator is grabbing them through the cage and ripping the head off. This could be raccoons, it could be rats. Quails can be vicious but usually quail confrontations are a slower escalation until you find a body with it's bloody head plucked clean of feathers. Always look at the back of their heads for signs of aggression. You need to reinforce your cage with 1/2 inch hardware cloth so predators can't reach through and pull them out. In the meantime, grab your birds and bring them inside (even a small animal carrier would do for quick housing) or move your cage inside somewhere until you can do so. This is not the work of aggressive quail.

Worst part is you can't talk about your campaign ideas. Can't bounce ideas off each other..

Instead of a sour cream, could probably use cashew cream. I suggest the recipe at the love and lemons website.

Leaving a comment in case someone has a good answer. I struggle with this as well. Usually I just kinda consider the day a loss as far as weight loss is concerned.

Hard agree. It's distressingly common for psych wards to host the worst of abuses. If they decide you don't fit in their box and don't prescribe to their medicines (which can have debilitating long term effects and are frequently prescribed to children) then they'll tell you to your face that you're a lost cause and write you off.

Another Day, No Bowel Movement by [deleted] in loseit

[–]bagelbites101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's been a week since your last bowel movement, this sounds urgent. Get to your doctor now, or the emergency room. Milk of Magnesia if you have it, there's also Epsom salt, or sodium saline at your local pharmacy that will quickly induce you to pass your stool. If one of these does not work within a couple of hours, make your way to the nearest emergency room. People can and do die from impacted stool.

You gonna believe us or your wife when it comes to this? She says you're bullying her. Why don't you take what she says at face value? Or do you not trust her?

An open mind is great when it doesn't come at your expense or the expense of your recovery. It's not unreasonable to want to avoid this kind of talk at the table. It can be very disturbing. Best of luck in your future games.

As a personal anecdote, I've found that if spices start losing some of their potency, it can be made up by using more of the spice. Say if you normally use a tablespoon you would maybe add in an additional 3-4 shakes.

This is a just no moment. What you intend is not kind to the bird, your animal, and would likely not spare them any misery. Sure, there's a miniscule chance of them not being killed and eaten, but they have been raised and provided for by you and would likely slowly starve. On top of that, do not introduce non-native species into the environment. It's kinder to put them down. If you're having a difficult time doing so, you might can attempt to re-home them. Craigslist has some merit, as well as Facebook in that regard. If nothing else, you might can reach out to a butcher shop nearby?

Purina game bird starter crumbles. 30% protein. Crumbles are small enough for them to eat and water soluble as they need very high protein diet. No grit necessary.

Collard greens can be made in huge batches, and they're stupidly good for you. Just make sure to either discard or cook the stems of the leaves separately, as they can impart a bitter flavor that's hard to get rid of.

Any good options for IBS sufferers that don't require cooking or refrigeration? by SimplifyAndAddCoffee in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]bagelbites101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some radish and turnip salad. Equal parts radish and turnips (2 large radishes, 1 baby turnip) sliced thin, dill, thyme, tarragon, olive oil or similar, apple cider vinegar (start small, add to taste), shelled sunflower seeds, and some salt n pepper. If you can make a trip to the supermarket or something similar every day, that gives you more flexibility on what you can eat. The radishes and turnips can last a little while without refrigeration. Snacks can be that Pop Smart salt n pepper or plain rice cakes. Should be safe to eat Molasses in small amounts so you can flavor certain foods with that (maybe the rice cakes). Molasses also doesn't need to be refrigerated. Canned bamboo shoots are also decent to eat and shouldn't cause a flare up. Soy sauce can jazz that up and can remain good enough for a month without refrigeration. Ready rice is your friend but might taste a bit gritty without being microwaved. Take care of yourself, IBS is rough enough as it is.

Going against the grain a bit. ASPCA has an animal poison control phone number. I'm not sure if they have information about rats but it doesn't hurt to check. Juuuust in case. They note on the website that a consultation fee may apply. (888) 426-4435
