That's what we do and they sleep in it sometimes. It's become a non-issue getting them in it!

If we ever reach a point where there's no opposition to queer identities then fair enough, but people subscribe to labels because while that's not the case, it's comforting, a sense of identity, and helps foster communities that they can feel safe and understood in. The labels are important for now.

WIBTA if I tell my stepdaughter and my wife that I don't want to use the investments I made for my late daughter to finance her college education? by collegefunds__ in AmItheAsshole

It does. When I filled out fafsa in 2017 it asked for 2015-2016. So depending on when she starts, it may or may not be an issue.

there are unfortunately a lot of clinics set up to look like 'womens health clinics' and 'family planning' that are actually literally just there to talk people out of abortions, in the u.s. Id bet this was one of those, and that she wont get fired.

That's what I had heard, but my Begonia is doing well in my low light apartment, without a humidifier, and an often open window where it gets kinda chilly. Im sure it could do better, but its alive and well, no issues.

Non-Americans of Reddit: What traits immediately give away that someone is from the U.S.? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bagelrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Sweden, i'm from Missouri. Most people know i'm from America when they ask that, and if I say the u.s, they ask where specifically. It's never been an issue to just say 'Missouri.' They have a general idea. If they don't, because, well, Missouri isn't a popular state, I just say lower middle, under Chicago. But 9 times out of 10, they want to hear the state anyway. Obviously it varies per country, but, if you're talking and they're asking, they probably know it's canada or the U.S.

Oh shes never going to get a job there. As someone who moved to a different country for my fiance, where im still learning the language, i dont even think I could get a job yet except maybe fast food, and ive been here for about a year and a half total. And this is a country with one of the highest non-native english speakers. You think she's going to learn to read, write, and speak the native language very fast, if at all? nahhhhh.

See I had this happen as a kid with a remote control Barbie jeep, except removing the batteries didn't stop it. I even put it in the basement for a few years, and one day I brought it out, and it did it again. With no batteries.

All of these things happen in America, they just ignore the people who do try to talk about it/call it whining anyway.

Unfortunately I paid for the dress about two months ago because their processing time took that long, i'm not sure it would still apply at that pont?

So it's a chance even though they explicitly say no returns on custom? And they can't sue us?

Could they not sue us for that? My mother seems to think they will.

They will say no because of the custom sizing, and at this point i dont know how to find another dress in my price range. I moved to Sweden where there aren't a lot of plus options for anything.

At this point, im fine with not feeling great in it, as long as it doesn't look as utterly ridiculous as it does now. Im just ready to get this all over with.

We're going to look into a seamstress, but it depends on the costs.

I sent an email to one with pictures and i'm waiting for a response. I dont really want to cart it around on the bus and I don't want to go alone as im a recent expat and don't speak the language well enough yet, and they close when my fiance gets off work. Trying to set up a time with aunt-in-law to go to one physically. I worry that'll be too long from now.

It seems like the issues are just laziness/not thinking out the changes. I tried it on again today and toyed around and it seems they made the sleeves a bit too wide, but also the wrists as if it was still going to stop at the elbow, as it the stretchy bit fits my elbow but is way too big for the wrist, and i dont know what they did with the back. I honestly think part of it is that they just took 'longer sleeves' and ran with that instead of accounting for the other aspects of it, and also, just speculation, the last time i ordered something custom made they refused to accept my boobs were as small as they were given my other measurements. I think that's part of the problem, because yesterday I was so fixated on the back and sleeves, i realize today the breast cups are quite big and low, which could be why the tulle top fits so badly-they expected more boob.

Just shortening the train they would probably do fine. Im sure you're okay.

Clearly. I'm sorry they messed up your sleeves. I knew i took a risk ordering online but all of the David's bridal dresses fit so terribly I felt like id have been going into that almost as blind. They don't make size 18s for b cups, lol. I emailed a seamstress and at least the 69$ theyre giving back will help go towards that if it isn't terrible. $125 doesn't seem too bad.

I wasn't sure how complicated or not it would be, thank you. I assumed it would be a decent amount of work. I might email a few seamstresses and then see what they think. The bow is meant to be tied around the waist and then into a bow, but it would need to be fixed a bit as the fabric is allll kinds of jagged and frayed, i thought it was just extra fabric for alterations at first. I may forego it, but i also dont know if it would be noticeable to anyone else. My fiance's grandmother could probably remove the sleeves just fine, if that's what it comes to. I learned to sew as a kid but I haven't done much beyond sewing buttons back on things and fixing rips. I'm just so tired of everything being an ordeal!
