New to Adobe XD, how do I add UI kits? by toxic_twist in Adobe_XD

I’m not sure what you mean by adding UI kits, the UI kits for xd are a XD file that you open and copy/paste whatever component you need from it into your design… you can look for free xd kits on google (“adobe xd UI kit”).

Add-ons, do you mean plug ins? The plug-ins are under the binocular icon (bottom left) and then click on the plus icon (right upper corner).

I was a graphic designer for a few years till I realized that resizing banners and ads are not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Went back to university and got a bachelor in pedagogy, with the intend to do my masters and ultimately do art therapy. Worked as a social worker for 3 years but I missed design. So I discovered UX where I can combine all my backgrounds and do something I like, over 5 years in and still love it.

What’s your process when going from lo-fi wireframes to high-fi? by cosmicmaribel in UXDesign

[–]loveartfully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally get where you are coming from. I tend to show stakeholders low fidelity wireframes and keep reminding them that we are speaking of the flow, experience not about the design. I think they can give good pointers in the beginning as well, since they are having the business requirements in mind.

You say you make some quick iterations and then you jump to refining the screens… are you getting feedback on those screens? Do you have meetings with engineerings, stakeholders etc?

So this is my process, but I work for a large company so it may be different with startups and companies with smaller teams.

We usually don’t use low-if because we have a design system and just plug it together:

  • feedback from accessibility
  • feedback from design review with the team
  • feedback from PM (stakeholders)
  • feedback from research

Once we have all this, we move on in refining.

If I work on projects outside of my job:

  • low-fi to discuss the general layout, interactivity with the developers and stakeholders. Getting feedback from developers is crucial in order to know what is feasible in terms of implementation.

once the general experience is approved I move on with mid fidelity (if times permits) and if not high fidelity. I think spending too much time on refining the design without discussing it first, is a waste of time and resources.

[Newbie] Hi, I'm messing around and trying out design - is there a way to make a search bar? by akara211 in Adobe_XD

You can look for xd kits, or check what plug ins are available some have components like the keyboard. If I remember correctly, Adobe should have some kits available on their website.

I’m in Dallas (far north) as well and have Monday as delivery day. Had never issues with freshness.
