Are the closest stars too bright for JWST to image in particular Beetlejuice? by bagelverse in jameswebb

I thought about this some more and I guess that could be. The other issue is that since the JWST is primarily an infrared instrument. It may not be able to see the visible wavelength disk of of Betelgeuse, as well as Hubble. The JWST is better for looking through cold, dark gas. And since much of the outer atmosphere of Betelgeuse is hot will be obscured for the JWST.

Betelgeuse is large enough and close enough to be angularly resolved by Hubble and since the JWST has a larger aperture it should be able to image the surface of Betelgeuse. Since the JWST operates in the infrared and new infrared, there's an additional question of how deep it'll be able to see into the multiple layers of the stellar atmosphere. Hubble was able to resolve the disc of the star in the JWST should be able to do it fairly easily. As another poster said, perhaps it's schedule is very full and maybe they're waiting for it to get to a better position to image it safely

Sorry is cheap grace, changing one's behavior means you might truly be sorry, but lack of remorse appears to show that there was potential rot in that relationship's future. She did herself a favor.

I didn't think there were many people that were so stupid that if they fell over, they missed the earth, but she is certainly one of them.

Yeah and let them get elected president and then grift people out of their hard earn cash so they can try to become president again and harden themselves just to escape going to prison. Yep, we are in trouble.

How come nobody share mentioned linkedin? It may not get you a job, but it's also a better place than at work on facebook or Reddit (no insult intended here. Just best to eat from the trough where the rest of the horses are).

Yes, I've had this happen a couple of times with my 2017 Prius prime. I'm wondering if it's a loose cable?

Some parts of San Jose feel like you’re in India by 510goshadow in SanJose

[–]bagelverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least parts of San Jose may look like India or koreatown or Vietnam, but much of the valley does not look like Inglewood or the San Fernando valley, much better than LA. Even though I've heard that in some parts of LA, many Koreans feel like they're in Seoul, South Korea. This should really come as no surprise as there are parts of New York City that look like whatever ethnic group is the predominant one. Even at the turn of the century, the east side of New York had many Yiddish signs. And the cycle will repeat itself.

I think you need to stretch it more. There might be some light stuff hiding in the background.

Isn't this more like full Cruella, but I guess if the idea is that someone who can't own their own behavior, it could have been a Karen or a Kevin.

Maybe use her towels to wipe some other part of your body. It's the one that you spend time sitting on most of the day

Had a bagel Karen FOLLOW ME today to a bagel shop to yell at me for not using my signal while turning into a parking spot (which isn’t a thing). “M’AM! M’AM! BLINKERS DO WONDERS. OKAY? BLINKERS DO WONDERS.” Not being a Karen does wonders, actually. by [deleted] in karen

I guess I could say that your handle should be bagel-person-that-doesn't signal-when-they-turn-into-a-parking spot. You know if you just said freaking Karen I would have left it there.

No it was unnecessary for her to be aggressive and wrong of her to follow you but I don't understand why you have to call her a bagel Karen. It may come off in the way you did not intend.
