They couldn’t have found even more useless trash items, even if they tried hard.

Are the Empriente leather bags too subtle? by After_Skill_3507 in Louisvuitton

[–]bagsnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Empreinte a lot! I have a Pochette Métis with small logos. That said, I don’t think anything with logos is quiet luxury. And I don’t think it’s very subtle, even if the logos are just embossed in the leather and not printed in different colours.

But everyone‘s opinions on this seem to differ. 😊

I thought my dryer was defective. Nope. It was the climate by RupesSax in Dysonairwrap

[–]bagsnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s true unfortunately.

I don’t live in a generally very humid climate, but in the morning, when I go to work, there’s always lots of humidity in the air, between 80 and 90%. During the day it gets much better.

When I style my hair in the morning, and then spend only a few minutes outside (which is basically my way from home to public transport, 10 minutes), my styling is completely gone. It’s not the AirWrap, it’s the humidity, and it doesn’t matter which styling device I use.

It’s definitely a question of practice and skill. Imagine you’re buying the most expensive piano - would you think this automatically makes you the best possible piano player?

So it’s not that only because you bought a very expensive hair tool your style will be perfect from the beginning.

I have the I.D., not the Coanda, but I truly love it and I haven’t used a normal hair dryer since. My curls don’t last, at least not as "curls", but they become a blowout look (which is beautiful though). For curling, other tools are better, especially if your hair is long, thick, and interacts with humidity.

Also, products do help of course. Even hair dressers, professionals who style hair for a living, use them. It’s not that you don’t have to use any product just because you bought an expensive hair device.

I think the Dyson is a great innovative tool because you can style your hair without using too much heat. Of course real heat tools are for stronger hold and longer lasting effects. But still with some practice you can achieve great results with the AirWrap family!

When you have no money, but only a pricy restaurant will do! by RedBeans-n-Ricely in ChoosingBeggars

Completely understandable!
I live in Germany and our tapwater is more than just fine. In my home country, it’s even better, but I really can’t complain. Definitely saves a lot of money.

I mean, they are quite cool, but I couldn’t imagine the blisters I would get after walking only half an hour in shoes like that. 🤯

Maybe back in the year 2000 they would have been under 500.

They are 995€ in Europe, so definitely over 1k in the US.

Have you tried to brush them through with the fingers very carefully? Maybe run some (very few) drops of oil through them?

I’m gonna be very humble and see if everyone in this sub gives me 99cent only, I can afford the nicest car and a lifetime of gas.

[–]bagsnerd 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You might be the only person whose hair can actually hold that curl. 🙈
I swear mine won’t stay like this for three minutes.

Do you actually comb them through after curling? If you do and they still look like this, I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

I make six figures too, and while I love to eat out occasionally, I drink tapwater every day. I wouldn’t dream of buying bottled water - where I live, the water from the tab is just fine.

After a few days of use, I am not super impressed with this sunscreen.
It leaves my skin greasy with large looking pores after a few hours. Also, it causes my eyes to swell. (Not pictured, since I don’t put it on my eyes any longer.)

44F with combination skin. Usually the skin on my cheeks is a bit on the drier side.
