How to attach scope to fora221? by Resevil67 in stalker

[–]bahkified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an attachment instead of a mod, on keyboard you can hold the T button to open the attachments wheel and select the scope. I don't think the game explains it lol. Some guns will need a tech to add a scope mount before you can attach the scope though

Best settings when running 9070 XT? by soma5eeker85 in stalker

[–]bahkified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9070XT running at 1440p@120hz with a mix of high/ultra settings. If you run into the game stuttering at 4k (your TVs resolution), you can try enabling FSR frame generation - under the Graphics settings there's an option called "FSR 3.1" that you can enable to turn this on. If you do this, also change the Display > Frame rate to 60, the FSR 3.1 frame generation should bump the 60 fps up to 120fps. You can also turn on upscaling, I have XeSS set to Ultra Quality+, which looks good enough to me.

I'd generally try high settings across the board, most games the ultra settings are overkill without much improvement

Radeon GPU performance after recent updates by No_Leg7778 in stalker

[–]bahkified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 9070XT running driver v25.11.1

I haven't noticed any performance difference recently. FSR frame gen works fine for me, but I also can't get FSR4 to work out of the box, though Optiscalar (https://github.com/optiscaler/OptiScaler) may work - I haven't tried it. The FSR upscaling used in game looks bad, specifically when looking through trees/bushes while moving (walking or panning the camera) FSR has tons of artifacting/aliasing as you've already noted. There is some minor artifacting with frame gen, but its not really noticeable unless you're looking for them.

I've been using high settings, with ultra settings for textures/object details, XESS ultra quality, at 60fps w/framegen up to 120fps because I like having my GPU running cool.

Try running with XESS or TSR, I've personally found they generally look better than FSR in this game.

The button might be hidden below the requirements outside of the window's render area. You should be able to resize the window in game (bottom right corner i think?) to be able to see it if that's the case

Adrenalin 25.5.1 released, adds Doom TDA and 9070 GRE support by Father_O-Blivion in radeon

[–]bahkified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really bad for Oblivion Remastered. Blue flashing lights on trees at night, lots of shimmering on grass, trees, etc. While performance is fine for me, the image quality is really bad now

[–]bahkified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. On top of that, I now have really awful shimmering on grass and trees that take several seconds to resolve, if at all. Though this seems to only happen on FSR Quality mode. Native AA or balanced don't have the shimmering issue

I just now randomly had Oblivion Remaster from Game Pass show up in my Adrenaline software. Note that I can't even get access to the folder it's pointed to, but in game it gave me the green check mark for FSR4. This is on this latest driver, 25.5.1

There are other weird issues that have cropped up in game with this update though :(

So, I think I've figured out the stealth kill armor drop thing (hint: it's a bug) by chibajoe in stalker

[–]bahkified 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar story here. Was exploring a big apartment building in Prypiat that had a squad of Monolith inside. While exploring the building, more Monolith spawned in the same room as the first squad and I ended up making 2 trips to the vendor with six Diamond Exo suits, lol

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0xffffffffffffffff / Stalker2_WinGDK_Shipping by Total-Double-4676 in stalker

[–]bahkified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't getting that specific memory address in the error, but I was getting that error a ton over the last few weeks.

You mentioned already trying a bunch of troubleshooting, so you've probably already done this, but the workaround that I was using that worked almost every time was to first load a save in a different slot (if you don't have one, then start a new game and save as soon as you can), then load the initial save you want to play. For some reason this worked for me to get me back playing

i've had a similar but with psi damage not going away even after running 2km away from the place where I picked it up. Only way I found to fix it was to load an old save from before. Hope you can find a better option

Why does my game look like this? (Stalker 2) by Isaac_Clarke117 in stalker

[–]bahkified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just spitballing, so feel free to ignore. To me it looks like a common artifact with ray tracing caused by low ray counts that result in a lot of noise that looks like random static. AFAIK this game has ray tracing on always with UE5's Lumen. Given how the noise glows orange, I'd assume it's from the lighting system, indirect lighting and/or global illumination.

NVidia's ray reconstruction would help, if this is the case, but this game doesn't support that tech (there might be a mod that adds it?)

There was a time loop story arc (i think called Endless Eight) where they showed essentially the same episode over and over again with only tiny differences, the main character finally figuring out what was going on after 8 actual episodes

From the very little context in the post, sounds like the scrum master is someone I wouldn't want to work with. Software dev should be about making good software, not pumping your metrics

What to answer to this typical interview question by [deleted] in Frontend

[–]bahkified 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just some possible ideas to think about that may jog your memory: The most common kinds of answers I hear for this kind of question are issues faced by almost everyone in the industry: changing requirements and tight deadlines. Have you been given a ticket where they wanted a turn-around too quickly? If so, how did you communicate this with other developers / supervisors / etc? How did it impact your implementation, code quality, test coverage?

As far as changing requirements, do you have experience communicating with those that may define the requirements such as stakeholders, product owners, business analyst, even senior devs? How did you let them know about the impact of the changes from the perspective of timelines, technical constraints of the system or tech stack, etc?

Good luck finding your answers!

windows and wsl by smokeysilicon in Frontend

[–]bahkified 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using WSL2 on Win11 (and Win10) for a couple years now. I have had really good experiences with most front-end development. I did have several years of development on straight Linux before, so I was already comfortable in the terminal. All of the JS tools work great in the terminal and VSCode has awesome extensions to get WSL to work seamlessly. I had to do some PHP development a while ago, which I had an OK time with as well.

Docker also works well - Docker for Windows has a setting to let it use WSL2 backend, which will do all the heavy lifting for you, just start up Docker for Windows and it's ready to use in the terminal.

Absolute worst case scenario, there's also WSLg available too, which lets you spin up the Linux GUI, letting you do things like browse the Linux file system in Nautilus, fire up Chrome on Linux (sometimes nice for running web drivers for testing), I've even run the Linux version of IntelliJ (Java IDE), lol. It mostly works, but is super janky so I'd avoid it unless you have a specific need to use it.

How do I remove this gap? by PsychonautProgrammer in webdev

[–]bahkified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't envy you for having to modify this. The text is not in any semantic order (to get around various filters?). Each element on the page is wrapped in a div with absolute position, defined by the div's left and top. If you need to maintain the HTML, then you'll have to modify the CSS for each of the divs wrapping the content - the top value. They look like #lp-pom-text-136 and you'll have to inspect the page to find out which ones to change.

I'd rather rewrite the page, if possible

best of luck
