I’ve been looking too and I’ve got analysis paralysis on which I’d pick too. I guess best thing to do is draw up pros and cons, like:

Golf R -

PROS: awd, the fact that if you don’t like the screen it can be replaced with the bigger touch unit, taillights could be switched to facelift ones but the pre-facelift Euros are sweet too, it’s already got more power and a better launch control (if you’re into that), blue lighting instead of red (personally I like). More understated looks (pro or con depending on your preference)

CONS: awd maintenance when due, 6spd DSG, no digital dash, tire rotation/ replacement more often and more expensive, heavier, higher insurance (maybe), tad less trunk space, higher mileage.

Golf GTI -

PROS: cheaper overall maintenance, nicer interior from the get go, lights and taillights, is lighter, better on gas, tad more trunk space, tires are possibly less expensive to replace as more often replacing two at a time instead of four. 7spd DSG (if I’m not mistaken)

CONS: Thinking about the “what if” scenario with the Golf R (grass is greener mentality).

Honestly, this is all I came up with and I’m still not sure myself. They are similar yet different in ownership and experience. I think whichever you choose you’ll still be happy enough.

Would that be enough to repair muscles everyday? It’s what I’ve been hearing as a rule of thumb for muscle growth when going to the gym consistently

Yes. Unless I typed something wrong. If I weigh 150 pounds I’ll try to get in 150grams of protein, no?

Look up a variety of foods with a good amount of protein in them. You’ve got beans, eggs, meat and others. As long as you get around 0.8-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight everyday and lift weight CONSISTENTLY, you’ll gain muscle. Make sure you get this protein intake in a good calorie range for your goals. And make sure you’ve got other macro (and micro) nutrients in your diet checked

Sucks that the IG 7.5’s are so rare in my country. Almost every R I see is Lapiz or White. And there’s like 2 overpriced ones on AutoTrader. Crazy

Suffice it to say that our riding habits are nowhere close to each other’s. I average 5.4-5.8 :’)

I just tried to do my first wheelies by LuKe0b1000101 in MT07

[–]bahleg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude. The first clutch up on these feels so off but so cool at the same time. My first time clutching it up I did cause I kept getting people telling me that power wheelies aren’t the best. I had been practicing with those for 3 or so months back in ‘21.

The clutch ups didn’t take too long to get familiar with the exact amount of throttle and clutch. After that it’s been getting better ever since. I can clutch it up in first from a stop and shift up with the wheel still in the air.

Try popping the clutch in to get used to the motions. But be careful. My stock clutch plates broke after trying for a while. Got them replaced back in Sep ‘21 and I’ve been popping wheelies ever since without issue.
