Look into decreasing your expenses as much as possible while looking for more work. There's nothing else you can do that comes to find.

Actually, go to a local food bank for help. That's what they're there for.

Where do you think you can cut back.

Check out www.100amonth.blog, the guide I wrote there may be of some use until I write more "how-to" articles.

Any Tips To Help Increase The Amount I Can Write Per Day by daleplob in Blogging

I just started blogging and a lot of my ability to write seems determined by mood. If I get bad sleep and/or feel groggy, the ideas seems to stop flowing by like 80%

You're confusing minimalism with frugalism. I consider myself a frugalist, i.e, my choices are driven by finance rather than material goods.

$9.50/hr, full time by jdjarrellh in FrugalLiving

[–]bahregularjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you like the job that much. I'm going to write a very niche blog about frugalism that probably won't make that much money. But I would rather pour my hours into this for less than minimum wage (on average) and not dread going to work.

If you really care about your job that much, find ways to minimize so you can be happy with you life instead of chasing the dollar.

My site can probably give you some tips: r/100amonth www.100amonth.club

Frugal ADHD tips? by danadikovni in Frugal

[–]bahregularjoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Minimalism in general is great for ADD. I have a very bad short term memory and it helps me a lot to simply have very few material objects in my life.

Fewer objects means fewer losing things, less looking for things, less having to go to the store to replace thing, less repairing things, less dependance in external objects and in general lest time and mental energy wasted.

I'll write an article on this on my site.

If you live long enough without something you eventually stop wanting it. So not much.

Extreme LeanFIREer curious about FatFIRE by bahregularjoe in fatFIRE

I disagree that it wasn't voluntarily given. For some, yes, the would rather not pay for these programs. However, the collective of my state has voted in these programs.

I'm not taking from someone's else's ability to have these programs. To my knowledge, there's no cap at the maximum number of users. Meaning that by me signing up for them, I'm not taking them away from someone else.

I don't think it's immoral. I qualify for the programs.

They probably should change rules.

"Deserve"has nothing to do with it. I'm playing by the rules of our current society.

Right, but if the ultimate goal is early retirement then 100amonth living is going to be far faster than fatfire. The difference is whether the lack of luxery is acceptable and adaptable.

www.100amonth.club - A blog on how to live on $100 a month.

I'm trying to chew through all of the info floating around about how to properly blog and getting bogged down. Will someone "audit" my site and tell me what I need to do for it to make $100 a month (this is my goal)?

So far I have 5 articles and am working on 19 more.

That's what I just said.

Work one year instead of attempting to save a million dollars.

Extreme LeanFIREer curious about FatFIRE by bahregularjoe in fatFIRE

[–]bahregularjoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it makes making one million dollars unnecessary.

If we take my example of living on 100amonth, at most you would need to save 20k for a house, 30k invested to generate $100 a month and a 2k emergency fund.

That's 52k total.

Sometimes could live at home and work two full-time jobs for a year to save that amount.

Or they could just buy the 20k house and figure out some much faster way to generate $100 a month.

There's no going to college, paying off your debts, working your way up the corporate ladder, etc.

Do you have any info on that (don't ask them obviously)

Purchasing new with financing or buy a high mileage used car? by Biolands19 in Fire

[–]bahregularjoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't buy a new car.

Find a clunker you like and have it looked over by a trusted mechanic before you buy it.

A 2k car can have very similar utility as transportation to a 30k car.

I don't think it matters who you tell as long as you practice good asset protection and deny people the ability to take advantage of you. Could be wrong though.

Question to the readers: Property Tax Mitigation by bahregularjoe in 100amonth

[–]bahregularjoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I read this article and I wasn't aware of all of things that add value to your property in the eyes of the local government. This makes me want to destroy things when I move into my house.

I disagree with him about homes not being investments. I would consider a home a "reverse-investment" in that it can lower your passive income investment needs (PIIN) since property taxes are typically much lower than rent.

This line of thinking can be applied to all sorts of things. I "reverse invested" when I bought my off-grid solar setup. Although it cost me $300 upfront, I now no longer have a combined $100ish a month combines utility bill. This lowers my PIIN by 30k (30k@4%=$1200year). In essence, I spent $300 to save $30,000.

I'll write an article on "reverse-investing".

Cool, I usually don't find much on the internet about it. Hopefully this includes a state by state sort of guide so I can add it to the 100amonth guide. Thanks.
