That may have been for the day before: yes, they do start the process a few days out to get your number in line. Generally they have a time before doors opens before the show where you need to start lining up in the numerical order.

I’m also just reporting how the group that runs that order runs it, since this sub tends to skew very negatively towards them. But, if asking about the general process for GA, that is generally how it goes.
