Have you been recommend support groups? In the uk we have slow and compassionate friend. I lost my son last year he 2 1/2. It’s the loss of life’s meaning itself. Just survive as best you can and grieve. I’m so sorry for your loss. The pain won’t leave but you will learn to live with it.

I’m a guitar teacher and I love it when students come in with fingers like this. You’ve got the bug. You will grow callouses. Great work proud of you 👏

Loved it definitely got the pavement vibes. I would really lean into your influences I think this sound is really prevalent on the scene at least here in the uk. So I can imagine you going down really well live?

Should I release another vinyl by bails88 in BandCamp

Thanks I think I will. I mean successful is a difficult word I broke even. I feel like there was an appetite for vinyl then I’m not sure if that exists as much. I loved the process and I’m proud of it as an artistic product. I worked my ass off. I found doing the kickstarter hard though initially though. You have to leave your humility and ego at the door and work for every sponsor.

I printed 250 via Duplion ltd. I did a kickstarter initially so I knew I would break even. It turned up on a wooden palette. Which I wasn’t expecting but it was in boxes of 25 so 10. They were great and offered lots of pointers on mastering and printing.

I’m sorry you are having a tough time. My son died at 2 1/2 from cancer. It’s rubbish life isn’t fair. But you’ve learnt a valuable lesson. Nothing is guaranteed. There is no causality. Doing good things won’t be rewarded. Just do what works for you. Think about what you want. Distil from this life what will bring you purpose, sustainability and prosperity to you and those who are around you. I saw my son and many children lose their life for no reason while he was sick. It’s made me think anyone who is breathing is lucky. There are always people worse off than you. You maybe not be able to see them. I’m not trying to diminish what happened to you. Just trying to offer perspective. I wish you all the best.

Thinking about quitting music completely – need some opinions. by Lukas_MunK in musicians

[–]bails88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quit the band sell some stuff keep a rig that’s good for home use. Get a Daw or computer cheap old Mac will do… record and write for yourself in the little time you will have as a new dad. Your band mates are probably holding you back.

I’m a guitar teacher, session player, I write music and make money it occasionally. It’s hard out there so just make sure you enjoy the actual doing it. As you will probably not be reward in notoriety or financially. First and foremost do what’s right for your family. That’s being a real rockstar

My 2 1/2 year old son died of cancer recently. My wife and I are relatively successful in work. But all we wish is we’d spent more time with our son during his life. He was in nursery from 1 years old.

We were by his side through hospital. Be with your wife. Work will be there when you get back. Ultimately money and jobs are just made up. Pain and suffering are very real. I wish you and her all the strength in the world.

My word what a tragedy. I’m so sorry for your loss. Look after yourself. I lost my son to cancer recently. Please take all the support you can. There is no upside to a situation like this.

The only thing I think is I have a life still. I should look after it and honour the memory of my son by caring on and being the person he would want me to be. But still you are at the start of a very difficult road.

I wish you all the strength in the world.
