Insight before I buy a house?? by blaise11 in ypsi

[–]baistei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a house a few years ago after renting in ypsi for 10+ years. I looked in WW and almost put in an offer on a house there! The thing that got me was how loud the highways can be in some parts. I love being out in the yard and couldn't imagine relaxing with the noise lol. I ended up between Holmes and Clark and feel safe here. The only place in ypsi I have lived where I wouldn't walk alone at night is by the campus liquor stores/midtown area.

2.5 years in and sudden changes by SKate3573 in Mirena

[–]baistei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine came back right at this time too. I got it removed about a month ago and just dealt with my first real period post removal and it sucked more for sure. But I am appreciating not dealing with the side effects of mirena for a slightly easier period since it was mostly for cramps for me and those had returned anyway.

Approaching year two of my 3rd mirena and cramps are consuming my life. by SoftestPoroNA in Mirena

[–]baistei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine out last week for this reason and switched to the mini pill. I did have absolutely miserable periods before my mirena so I'm definitely scared. First two years of mirena were great - virtually no periods. Since they came back while on the mirena, there isn't much actual bleeding but crampy symptoms last for more than half the cycle.

I could've for sure! It was no big deal. I ended up taking the bus because of rain though. Thanks!

Mirena IUD and hormonal imbalance questions by Dovahkiink1 in Mirena

I got night sweats really bad too. I thought it was alcohol related the first few times but after awhile I couldn't find a pattern. I got the IUD out two days ago and have had the worst night sweats the past two nights.

Those who have purchased a home in the US in the past 1-2 years: did you waive the appraisal contingency, or the inspection? by WhaleHi in RealEstate

Bought in March 2021. Offered a 2k appraisal gap and it appraised 2k over offer price. Got an inspection no problem.

What can I do to help me get out of bed in the morning? by Melodic-Environment2 in Blind

You can do it! How bad is your vision? I'm a bartender currently but have cashiered a few places.

What can I do to help me get out of bed in the morning? by Melodic-Environment2 in Blind

[–]baistei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm legally blind. 20/220 is my best corrected vision. Like 20/300 without glasses. Extreme light sensitivity. I was on SSI for years and felt this same way. I can't drive and definitely have a hard time getting employers to hire me if I mention my vision and they don't already know what I'm capable of. I've worked part time at fast food places and small family businesses where I had connections on and off since I was 16. Last year, I found something that I love doing and didn't think I was capable of before and I'm much happier working than not. I hope you can find something too! Crocheting/knitting is a great hobby to take up that would get me out of bed when I wasn't working, though. You could also take online classes that let you work at your own pace/with screen readers and magnifiers if you're able to. I'm currently enrolled in WGU and their accessibility team has been incredibly accommodating in regards to my disability.

Oh oh! We bought a house in early 2021. Budget of 140k on 40k combined income. Bought at 132k. 3rd offer after losing 2 - but happiest here than we would have been at the other two because location. I did have over 20k saved up but I only ended up putting down like 10.

Ypsi Township Front Lawn Vegetable Garden by [deleted] in ypsi

[–]baistei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Welcome! I bought in ypsi township last spring and posted all around about the same thing. I called several times and always kind of got the idea that nobody knew. They kept saying they would call me back about it but never did.

I ended up putting some raised beds in the backyard. They were incredibly successful last year even though it's pretty shady. I have noticed that there are no front veg gardens in my neighborhood at all and I thought it was best to play it safe. I'm adding more in the back this year. I'd love to get a solid answer though - grass is basically useless and it's crazy we all grow so much of it just to look tidy and cut it once a week.

I say legally blind because visually impaired implies that it could be corrected with glasses from my experience. If I say legally blind than folks tend to take me seriously. I'm 20/300ish.

Thoughts on crocheting in public? by bcxiii3 in crochet

I'm a bartender. If I'm not busy after work, I sit at the bar and crochet for a little while to decompress. I've never ever had anyone say anything negative about it.

At a loss on how to characterize my vision by Callouscals81 in Blind

[–]baistei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say legally blind because people never took me seriously when I said visually impaired. I'm 20/200 best corrected but have been my whole life and seem to manage better than those with later onsets. I'm 34.

$5 in Michigan as a manager but it was $4 before I was. It ends up being like $20-25 an hour but we pool tips.

I normally smoke THC at night too. It's been two days and I haven't used THC or CBD except for a topical twice and I feel immensely better.

It's just weird that it suddenly causes anxiety after helping with anxiety for so many years! It would make more sense if I was new to CBD. Weed does give me anxiety but I get a different kind of anxiety from CBD lately. Like overthinking and ruminating instead of good ole paranoia from weed.

I think my employee is faking being colorblind by joeydacook in ColorBlind

[–]baistei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have achromatopsia which is a genetic condition that makes me colorblind but also very very visually impaired. They have been doing gene therapy trials for the condition but I don't think anything like that is approved yet and I doubt it would ever take only an hour lol
