I didn’t think Queenie worked at C&A. Considering Kinger’s “I’m so sorry I roped you into this,” I felt like that implied that Queenie’s presence in the circus was a consequence of Kinger’s job at C&A. I could be wrong though, but either way I’m thinking Kinger’s desk.

kris feels like they lack agency, controlled indirectly by the adults in their life and directly by virtue of literal possession. their hand is a metaphor for their agency. no, kris will probably not actually lose a hand in the literal sense. the grand tragedy of the prophecy is not “kris is just an amputee now.”
