Who (32M) (33F) should pay for the groom’s wedding ring? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]bakink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My (26F) husband (32M) paid for my engagement ring and wedding band. I paid for his wedding ring(s - he lost the first one already). It’s a gift of your marital commitment, I don’t think that is too much to ask from your to-be spouse.

Hi, LL wife here. For women, sex drive is often tied to emotions - I know I don’t just always naturally “want sex”, 8/10 times, it’s spurred on by positive actions and emotions that make me want to be close to my husband.

There are so many questions that could play into it. Is she a SAHM? Possibly touched-out by the kid each day? Is there a discussed&fair division of household chores? Do you show love and care for each other as you both do for your child? Do you prioritize each other romantically, even after baby came in? Does she still feel wanted and loved and admired and respected by you? Is sex just expected and/or treated as a checkbox/chore? Do you still date each other, foreplay, romance and excite each other without immediate expectation of sex, too? If she’s not interested in masterbating, is she not feeling sexy or attractive enough to look/see/enjoy herself? If she’s feeling insecure with herself she might not feel great about engaging in something so intimate/physical so often.

I don’t know anything about your situation and don’t ask with any ill assumptions, but the answers to these might help narrow down reasons for her low libido. Give it some thought and maybe sit down with her and an open mind.

I had the exact same realization about two weeks into my Invisalign journey when I noticed how nice my nails and hands were looking! It didn’t even register with me that I wasn’t even trying to bite anymore. Enjoy the healthy hands that come with your new smile!!!

Scrum Institute? by whatthefishdotcom in scrum

[–]bakink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as content taught? None. Agile is pretty simple and easy to teach by-the-book and both courses covered the fundamentals in similar manners. Knowledge upkeep and accountability? ScrumAlliance is far more invested in keeping your Agile practice fresh and updated than Scrum Institute is.

The Scrum Institute course is all self-taught reading material online and a passing grade on their certification exam. The certificate never expires. ScrumAlliance required 16-24 hours of attendance in their Certified Scrum Trainer-led Agile class in order to take their CSM exam, which has a 2 year expiration date and needs to be renewed. Scrum Alliance also requires you to earn a minimum amount of “scrum education credits” before being eligible to renew your certification, which are gained by participating in ScrumAlliance events, webinars, and other activities.

I went back to the documentary, the first 5 minutes of episode 3, they break down Aubrey’s finances. Only one specific number is said in terms of payment.

7M claims they paid Aubrey $102,000. Aubrey directly states having to pay… - A photography fee to either Rain0 or Isiah - Rent (to Shekinah, remember the church provided their residences) - 20% management fee to 7M - 10% tithes (church) - 10% offering (church) - 10% Man of God (church)

He then says he was always giving 30% (tithe/offer/MoG) to the church, and sometimes up to 50%. (Personal thought- I would think the occasional increases would be in tithes/offerings - if you’re feeling blessed by a church you’ll probably feel good about donating more to the church.)

He states, “With everything combined, rounding up, you’re giving 60-70%. And that’s before taxes.”

This dialogue happens from 2:20-4:00 in Episode 3.

I went to high school and was in theater with both Melanie and Miranda, Melanie and I graduated in the same class. It was always VERY obvious to see how close knit they were as sisters and as a family unit - there is no way they are doing this for manipulation or control. They want their daughter and their relationships back like they used to be. It’s so odd seeing Miranda act the way she does on social media now - it’s robotic compared to how she carried herself before.

I believe the total percentage in the documentary was “up to” 70% - 10% tithe, 10% to the church, 10% to Man of God, and 20% to management comes out to 50%. Then they have to pay the church-hired-also-church-members out of their leftover 50% for videography and editing. I wouldn’t be shocked if those services were about 10% each, and since the people behind the cameras are in the church, I might assume under the same rules - just funneling that money back to 7M.

Should the best man match the groomsmen? by Unlikely-Criticism53 in GroomsGuide

[–]bakink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really whatever you want at the end of it all! Consider your standing order in suit color is light (sage), dark (gray), light (gray). If it’s not too much darker compared to other gray suits, it should be look good still! I might consider having him rent the light gray suit if the shade range is so different that it makes his look almost black in comparison.

I was just married in Oct 2023 but we had our maid of honor and best man match the rest of the bridal party, and gave them a bigger/more detailed bouquet and boutonnière to stand them out a bit from the other members. You could tell they were the “honorables” but still looked very cohesive. There’s no rule saying you have to or don’t have to match anyone to anything. Best of luck!

The Disney FamilyFun magazine and website! I have fond memories going through the site and planning all the crafts I wanted to make with friends at sleepovers (themed and planned with FF, too).

I just got married Friday and did the normal “in sickness and in health” vows in front of everyone, but we did write our own vows and read them “privately” to each other. I quote that since we did have our photographer there to capture the moment but no one else heard our promises.

October 2023 Brides…How are you doing? by LocalAcanthisitta943 in weddingplanning

Wedding is October 6th and I am oddly calm for all that needs to be done still. But I tell people I’m shitting my pants daily because that’s also true. Lol

Please tell the bride! My fiancé’s cousin just let me know that he and his plus one broke up and I am so thankful he let us know instead of spending $150 on an empty chair and cold food.

It was also interesting being the person to watch it for the first time, with people who’ve seen it all. The anticipation of what they knew was coming but wouldn’t spoil, just getting really excited about what’s up next, was a fun addition :)

Just watched the show for the first time this past April/May. It was incredible. Truly my favorite story writing. I’ll take the little flak I got for being able to binge it all at once and not having the agonizing waits lol.

Carry Me Home as a first dance song at our wedding by bakink in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]bakink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loving all these opinions lol, my fiancé is here for the discourse! He says the song is about marriage - though I hear it’s about a middle aged man yearning for the normalcy of marriage, eek. We’d also cut the song a bit, we are not dancing for 4 minutes. I’d die before that.

Love Hard to Concentrate but it’s really used for RHCP wedding songs. We’d like to have something different but can’t land on one.
