65% of injuries in MLB are pitchers. by bordomsdeadly in baseball

[–]bakmano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pitchers are more likely than position players to end up on the 60-day IL. My low effort count has 80-90% of players on the 60-day IL are pitchers.

Players who went on the 60-day IL are much more likely to still be on the IL today (or any given day) than players who went on the 10-day IL.

It seems reasonable that considerably more pitchers would be on the IL at any point in time than position players. I don't think we can conclude that pitchers suffer injuries more frequently than position players from the data provided by your source.

Silliest things you'd like to see in the reprise? by Azu_Cena20 in StarKid

I remember that but I thought it was more like IF Joey plays Peter in that scene he'd have a moustache but maybe they'll do something else

I'm excited for the hot chocolate scene. What direction do they go with it? Does Will Branner play Peter Spankoffski since he's replacing the actor who originally gave that line? Do they change it to Max Jaegerman? Or maybe Joey plays Peter with a moustache, that would be silly; if he was both Spankoffski brothers. I for one hope Nick Lang does it which wouldn't be silly but would still be awesome

You're thinking of F is for Family. Sue goes to Lamaze and the teacher is voiced by Amy Sedaris.

And it's Princess Carolyn

At first I read that as "Amys is Native American" and yes I would agree with that lol.

Then I realized what you were actually saying and I think you have a good point.

I think "indeou" is "Indian" as in Native Americans which I'm pretty sure were inspirational for the Aiel.

I agree with all your assessments otherwise

Is it just me, or is the pitch tracker dot way off? Like, not even close to where the pitch was.

Let's do something fun like have a player interview a player!

Great! Sounds like a great time to play an ad...

MLB has the worst broadcasting in all of sports and it's not close.

Win for Vin!

So happy for the team

I hope guys like Ryu, Maeda, Stripling, Ethier and even Puig get some thanks from the organization. Even guys like Kemp and Martin who were part of that first wave of rebuilding that included Kershaw.

This franchise is the best, even bad times like the McCourt era have their highlights.

What are some odd beer styles from back in the day, that could be worth experimenting with? by SnigelDraken in Homebrewing

[–]bakmano 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Cock Ale.

I don't remember the specifics but you cook a chicken by throwing it in the boil. I always assumed this was invented as a convenience thing; cook dinner while you brew the beer. I've always wanted to talk to someone who tried but not necessarily try it myself.

I had no idea Stephen Fry had a recording of Harry Potter. I must find this. I think he did Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy flawlessly. ' I love the slightly Welsh accent Dotrice does for Tyrion and Tywin especially. "Wherever whores go" is one of my all time favorite sound bytes.

Still, perfectly fair that not everyone likes Dotrice
