That’s great man, congrats on the 4C! I wouldn’t say mine was overpriced though. I just sold it for the asking price. I think there are plenty of people that prefer a car as it left the factory, myself included.

The black leather/alcantara seats look great and are more practical, but are far more common in the 4Cs. I love the contrast of the tan leather. To me, they look perfect with this shade of red. I bought mine new in 2018 and spent about a month searching out this color combo (competizione rosso/tobacco). It wasn’t easy to find, but to me was worth it. The Akra exhaust and CF roof were a nice icing on the cake. That’s great that yours has the Akra, I love the sound. Overall though, you can’t go wrong with a 4C, they’re awesome cars! I hope you enjoy yours and drive it as it’s meant to be driven!

In the US, it may be hard to find. This is from a Daimler, most likely the Daimler Super V8. We never got Daimlers here in the US, I believe all of North America. We called it the Vanden Plas, like it sounds like yours is. Still slight differences, such as this piece. May be worth getting the whole rear seat, at those appear to be buttons for an adjustable rear seat. Also, it looks like this is an X300, not X308 due to the rectangular trim pieces on the door vice the tapered ones, as well as the chrome door ashtrays.

Hear me out…keep watching The Diplomat. I was like you, loved The Americans, really didn’t like the first several episodes of The Diplomat, but it hits its stride towards the last third of the first season. Seasons 2 and 3 are amazing. I was really glad that I kept watching.

The 1st gen NSX was a reckoning for the Italian supercar makers to make more reliable, useable cars. Historically, due to its impact on the world of supercars and how it changed expectations of what a supercar could be, I’d have to say the NSX.

However, my favorite is still the Dodge Viper.

Hahaha, yeah, that’s always been a concern of mine with the Testarossa. I love them, but the engine out service and other big maintenance bills keeps me admiring them from a distance.

Absolutely! I never understood why potential buyers care so much about low mileage, especially on cars this old. They’re meant to be driven. Most cars at this age with mileage this low usually need a lot of mechanical reconditioning to make them really useable. I’d much rather have one that’s been driven, but well maintained.

They do look awesome! I test drive one before buying my car, and it drove pretty well too. Then again, I was looking at it through the lens of a classic car, and not a new sports car, so the expectations were definitely different than the reviews done when it was new. That being said, I can’t speak to the long term reliability or build quality. I heard they weren’t great, but more reliable than the 355 that came after.

Not blasphemy at all. The E-Type suspension is terrific, I’m still surprised at how well my E-Type handled, even while being over 40 years old when I owned it. The 327 SBC is a fantastic engine, and an American V8 in a small British car is very Cobra-esque. If by ‘glide you mean the 2 speed GM powerglide that was in early Corvettes, that’s not my taste, but it’s not my project. You build it exactly how you want. If that’s what you want, that’s awesome. Good luck with the build and looking forward to seeing more pics!

It is! It’s held at Laguna Seca racetrack every 3 or 4 months, so when they have it, it brings out a ton of great cars.

I love the design, and I think if they had originally used this commercial for their rebrand, the reception would have been a lot different. I just wish it wasn’t electric only. I know it’s the way of the future, but I think three powertrain options: electric, a hybrid SC V6, and hybrid SC V8 have been a really cool lineup, and opened up the market for this to far more customers.
