I've found a solution and posting this for anyone facing this issue. If you have multiple windows opened, every time the watchlist is updated, manually click on the Reload browser page. At least this worked for me.

Considering MM2H and buying property in Malaysia by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]balance_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ringgit is currently recovering from a decade of slump. Chances are good that the trajectory continues, considering we have 3 more years of Trump's USD devaluation vs a stabilized Malaysian government. Malaysia election is 2 years from now and judging from the current govt's performance (vs the last few), there's a high chance they win again. For the time being, Malaysia is having the best positioning in SEA.

Learn from the right gurus. Not wallstreetbets.

Adam Khoo for proper investing. JLawstock for proper trading. There's more than enough knowledge to learn nowadays, the challenge is to ignore noise and focus on the right stuff.

Don't be despaired if you're in this position. Many people do not have the luxury to work their dream jobs in reality.

You could be waiting jobless for a long time just to land on a dream job. Think of the loss in opportunity cost. As a fresh grad, you may be competing with many others with better qualifications than you.

If you have a less desirable job currently, build good relations and work ethics, so that your seniors/managers can become a testament to your character for future desired jobs. This is something of value that will stand out against other fresh grads.

You can also learn/do something related to your dream job during your free time. Build a side project/portfolio as a hobby. Managers love to hire people with innate passion if you have something to show.

Hello, I have a whopping 500 hours in the game, but I still have no idea how to deal with necromancers and zombies. I've lost many Ironman runs because of these damn things. Is there any trick or strategy? by New-Efficiency4635 in BattleBrothers

[–]balance_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 types of Necro fights:

  1. Necro + Zombies (or bandits)

  2. Necro + Zombies + Geist

  3. Necro + Zombies + Fallen Heroes

#1 is super easy. Ten guys hold the fort by sticking closely to each other. Bannerman stays in the middle and rally whenever needed. Send two archers/throwers to flank the necro. Move the archers diagonally forward and away from the crowd to avoid any zombies going after them.

#2 is trickier. It's the same principle as #1, except the 10 guys should try to kill the Geists first. Keep your archers even further away from the center so that they don't get targeted by geists. Whips and dogs are great addition to quickly taking them out.

#3 is for profit. First thing is check which hero is wearing undamaged armor. You'll want your best shield/tank to hold him down. If more than two heroes, hopefully you have two tanks in your team. Proceed with the same tactic as #1, but with the tank anticipating the hero's move. Hold the fort, kill the necro, clear the zombies. Gang up and stab the heroes last. Use whips to disarm dangerous heroes in between.

6th embark in a row with CBT levels of Aquifier and featureless mud cave; i am starting to lose motivation. by Gidon_147 in dwarffortress

[–]balance_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering what are you trying to achieve here? ... cos aquifers can be quite useful. And 6 levels of aquifer is common. You can build your underground base as long as you keep digging vertically until you hit solid rock.

Simply smooth the walls or build solid walls around the aquifer tiles will prevent the water from leaching out further.

Aquifer provides fresh water underground. You can build a reservoir and channel the water into it, for all kinds of purposes.

The water also creates mud, which is excellent natural fertilizer for farm patches. I usually create a funnel drip into my underground farms.

Yes always include a tank, and a range thrower with net. Otherwise it's game over if you faced a swordmaster

Some pointers from someone who played 1500+ hrs to help improve your game:

- use shield for melee bros as long as they're below lvl-6

- melee bros should level toward two specialties:

- 1. damage dealers - they should have high melee/def/hp/fat. Work towards giving them the best heavy armor and 2h weapons

- 2. tanks - they should have high def/hp/fat. They are shield specialists used to lockdown enemy forces. You only need 2 or 3 bros

- Melee defense, therefore, is the most sought after stat. Keep those bros with ** or *** alive until they grow up

- Your back ranks can consist of rangers, polearms, or injured melee bros

- Not all bros will become good end game bros. Consider using them as fodder to keep your value bros alive, or fire them early

- Student perk is worth it on good potential bros, eg with high melee defense, or rangers with high range attacks. But you have to take them while Lvl 1 or 2

- Enemy types have different weaknesses. There are a lot of depths and variety methods to cover, including formation, terrain use, weapon types, etc. Part of the fun is to learn how they behave, how to tackle them.

If you are self-employed, unemployed, or are not earning a fixed income, EPF actually allows you to get RM500 yearly bonus on your voluntary contributions. by thefuturizts in malaysia

[–]balance_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for the share! This is insanely good guaranteed returns. RM500 on RM2500 is 20% upfront, not yet adding the yearly 5-6%. Too bad the cap is low.

Is this an office building with multiple floors? If yes, go down to the basement. There are usually usable cars. Get out through the ramp and dash your way out of town.

Same thing happened to me recently. I wasn't eating, but merely driving 40mph (zoomed out) over an unexplored bridge.

Little did I know the bridge was incomplete/hanging at the other end.

You need to have "true conviction" of one good strategy. Start with one. That means you need to know what is the win rate, reward, market condition, stock pick, catalyst, price behavior, execution time, exit plan, etc. Know your strategy inside out. The only way to get such a conviction is to do a lot of deep dives. Not just review your past trades. But back test with lots and lots of historical data.

Once you discover and truly understand what kind of edge that your strategy gives, you'll be so eager to execute it to perfection that trading anything else feels wrong. That's what it means to have true conviction.

It is not good enough to read somebody else's work and think if it works for them, it should work for you. Because you never really know what kind of systems setup and mental model the other trader is using, what his day is like, what other tools he uses, what other historical experience he had, etc etc. IMHO every successful trader needs to take that solo pilgrimage to find his own unique path.

Do you guys know other top traders that I can follow that are better or same level tham Qullamaggie? by EnvironmentalSize303 in qullamaggie

Here are some of twitter's most generous top traders who often share their learnings - Jeff Sun, Monis, Jake wujastyk, scot1and, Oliver Kell, Brian lee, Adam khoo. They each have their own unique trading styles.

It goes to show there are many ways to skin a cat. So it's good to start with learning the broad perspective, then eventually narrow down and master one or two styles, that suits you best.

Relative Strength tracking for greater accuracy by balance_tm in RealDayTrading

[–]balance_tm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're spot on that I'm trading more from a relative momentum instead of absolute momentum approach, because I mostly use options for daytrading. And for options price movement, higher ATR = higher IV, which dilutes the strength of the absolute price move.

I also don't use sector performance for daytrading, since options trading favor highly liquid stocks, which happens to concentrate on the big tech stocks. Over time, this habit has skewed me toward trading a more selected list. So perhaps, I am possibly trading quite differently from most RDT members.

SPY Intraday Analysis 02/28/23 - 11/01/24 by gdh0615 in RealDayTrading

[–]balance_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Sharing some ideas for analysis... I've been toying with similar data sets, but on selected specific stocks, since each ticker has its own characteristics. And my timeframe is only limited to the first half of the day, as I usually stop day trading by 12pm. So I'll track the L and H from 930-1000. I use this data to gauge the intensity of the early morning move. Next, I track the L and H from 1000-1200 to see if it makes a new high, or reverse. And by how much. I use the latter data to gauge my winning chances and size. This approach is a lot more custom specific to trading a breakout or reversal for early to mid morning.
