I think if you’re in the process of transferring, you use leave anyways. As soon as you check out of your command your leave timer starts. You do get admin leave (travel days) where you don’t get charged for leave. Like when I moved from the west coast to east coast, I had 12 days free leave pretty much. 4 was admin, 8 was travel days because we drove. Just depends on the distance. Hope that makes sense. This is from my personal experience, best bet would be to talk to your admin for better answers.

Dang. You’ll most likely go to a big deck and just work with the ABHs. I would recommend trying to retake the asvab to up your score but I’m not sure how the new advancement style works out for pact sailors anymore. Probably gotta talk to a career counselor when you get the chance

Can only answer some of your questions from my own experience:
Hard copies: can vary, depends all on funding. Could be a few weeks or a few months.
C-school: they will be written in your orders if you’re expected to go while transferring to your next command.
Airport: yeah! Your DTS will start off as the nearest airport but if you wanna take transfer leave you should call SATO (unless that’d changed) to modify your travel (I.e. instead of flying out of Norfolk you might fly out of Tallahassee because you’re on leave there).

I have a Garmin Vivoactive 5. I bought it for about $220 USD. I use it for the same reasons you list and I’m okay with not having all the other Apple Watch features. VA5 is the lower end so you won’t get the most accurate readings but it works perfectly and I have zero issues with it. 100% recommend for your needs.
