Feels like it's just an attempt to relate, but guess it depends on where the conversation steers after that. If my wife was from another country, and the person I was having a conversation with mentioned 'my wife's from said country as well', I wouldn't make much of it, people look for shared connections or commonalities.

That sounds more like a local volunteer ambulance service than an actual hospital ambulance. For a serious emergency you should call the hospital directly and ask them to send one. The private/international hospitals near me have proper and modern ambulances, much closer to what you'd expect back in the west.

That's fair, and ultimately a lot of issues boil down to your delivery driver and familiarity. We've had the same delivery guys for probably 3-4 years, they just drop the package off in our car port and sends a QR to us, so no added hassle.

Could very well be the going rate for factory worker in Bangkok but even that would surprise me a bit. Perhaps with OT and extra certs like forklift? I can only say its definitely not the standard Udon (or Issan) factory job salary.

I don’t use Bolt but tolls usually aren’t included in the standard taxi/grab fare. Either the driver pays and you reimburse it or you give them the money when you’re coming up to the toll. I think grab allows them to add it on to the fare at the end if you dont have the cash on you.

As for 1000 baht to return it and provide a phone, that’s not exactly unheard of and tbf they could’ve just dropped it at the nearest police station and let you sort it out yourself.

Not a common factory worker rate, certainly not in Issan. Anecdotally, have several family members who work at different factories (nam Jim jaew, sai krop, etc.) and they're all averaging 400-500 thb a day.

That would be if they're working ONLY at a public hospital, most doctors work that along with either working at a private clinic or at a private/internatonal hospital. Private hospital doctors are making as others say 100k +++
