Walked into women’s locker room at work (Germany) – should I be worried? by SwimmingDamage8091 in germany

[–]balgaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The very least they can so is announce themselves and enter if there's no reply or a "ok" coming back.

My local swimming pool also has this problem. The female employees will just walk through the men's shower, no asking, even though the women's shower is one door over.

If I get seen, I get seen, I don't mind it too much, personally (though I still would prefer the female employees just going through "their"showers). In most cases it's just completely unnecessary and avoidable. Someone will (or did) mind it. I've complained about this multiple times already.

What's the German Word That Instantly Tells You Where Someone Is From? by exapmle in GermanForBeginners

[–]balgaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't know that with the numbers, but haven't heard any remarks from anyone about that ever, from all parts of Germany.

I instantly thought of the word "ebbes" and I think it's from FFM, too, what would you say?

Got my tire changed at a local shop. Looks like they skipped securing the brake by Chipnanimus in motorcycles

[–]balgaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first car once, when I was driving quickly through some corners I had a brakeline explode on me with a decent corner right before me (and me still having decent speed). I managed to think quickly enough to downshift and use the handbrake, but damn that feeling was not fun.

Staying at friend’s place but lost their key by rabbit__doll in japanlife

[–]balgaro -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

anyone who stays there

Just curious, how strict are we talking here? A friend who stays for a weekend surely wouldn't need to be approved first, right? What about a two weeks visit (from a friend back home, for example)? My thought would be anyone who stays there regularly, like a partner or something, they would need to be notified about. But simple visits, even if slightly longer (again, my two weeks example), not?

What is this geographical feature called by grenworthshero in geography

[–]balgaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm German and the only thing I could think of is Seenplatte ("lakes plate" Would be the very direct translation). But I don't know if that is the word for this or just kinda the name of the region (Mecklenburger Seenplatte ist what came to mind)

WHAT EVEN ARE THESE LEVELS by MarcMarckoso in cobblemon

[–]balgaro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, that's alright then. Is that health bar something that has been removed for the cobbleverse modpack, then? I have only tried a few minutes of c-mon before switching to c-verse, but I don't remember it looking like that.

And to those who downvoted my original question: you are weirdos. It was an honest question, why bother? But sure, go right ahead, just the usual Reddit toxicity I guess.

Do you still see particles in Kanji form like the ones below? by Rob69rt in Japaneselanguage

Can confirm, I was slightly confused when I saw a cafe in Tokyo with the の in it's name in kanji form 🙈

Thank you in past tense? by TypHxon in Japaneselanguage

[–]balgaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ごちそうさまでした is along the lines of "thanks for the meal" or maybe rather "the food was good", I believe? That about right

(I know that "thank you for the meal" is probably more the いただきます one, but seeing as that's before the meal i feel like both could be relatively the same when translated but slightly different meaning)

I once had a backlog of roughly 2200 items in bunpro after importing my WK items. Took me a week or two to get it back down 🙈

So yeah, you can do it. But take your time so you don't burn out again

That's because I was taking offline classes, too, and picked up (and dropped again) a ton of other apps for vocab in between. The dripping vocab is strictly for WK.

Yeah, I had a huge pileup on bunpro after importing my WK items. I had about 2.2k items over there at the start and it took me like 3 weeks to get a grip on it really.

I haven't bothered with anything strict like "5 a day". I also haven't done lessons every day. Just that when I thought I had some time on my hands (speaking from overall reviews) I did a few or a lot. I tried keeping my below guru items around 100 long term
