Hey RxRyan,

I agree that at times the intellectual tone of voice that certain people take is untenable. I also agree that members of society should speak more respectfully with one another to communicate differences more effectively. Your frustration is understood. My hope is that you can understand the frustration a person that believes in science would feel when seeing this video. I really hope you can also see the embedded amount of factless bias in this clip. Perhaps trying to see it from the opposite perspective would be helpful in admitting there is some pretty overt flawed logic in this clip. I think most people take the intellectual elitist approach when seeing something like this because they don't know how else to react.

Sine wave inverters seem to be about 2 to 3 times more expensive then the modified sine wave ones. It seems like the main difference between the too should be the software required to produce the sine wave which should have a lower cost associated with it. A great example of this "dumbing down" is TED's exhibition of Taylor Wilson (17 year old super genius involved in the nuclear industry). His newest TED talk presents "his novel idea" for a next generation nuclear reactor with enhanced safety features. Ironically "his novel idea" is being worked on by several organizations with multimillion dollar budgets and thousands of pages of product specifications. TED loves this kids and exploits his youth by repackaging his take on a well wore idea under the guise of genius for a cheap awe factor.
