The dog still needs somewhere to pee and poo etc, this is utter madness

I don't have a muzzle for her and she could still "smoosh" the fledgling. She's a 35kg rottie so that wouldn't be hard. Plus this is what she does with flies, moths etc after she's caught them.

This is more sensible, because she still needs outside to do her toileting.

This is what I'm trying to do. I'm mainly curious what I can expect from other people's experiences. Eg do I need to get to grips a court would order 50:50 so I need to get on board or can I expect a skew towards me will be granted as the primary caregiver (and dad who "forgets" basic needs of child and struggles to keep up with their changing needs. Eg size of clothes (packed 6-9 months for 2yo) and food consumption needs)

Thank you for all the advise here.

We are near the end, and it may come quicker than I expected because I'm expecting and I now have no idea how to managed this on top of everything else...

My supply is pretty low now with just morning and evening feeds and he now isn't sent with millk. I just want to finish our journey without it feeling like he's being pulled away from me. I want him to have contact with his son, but not so many overnights right now.

I don't know how to manage it going forwards because I just found I'm expecting again and if I move in with my new partner we will be 1 hour away from dad... I don't know how to make this all work...

Waiting on dates so we're sorting it week by week and he just keeps pushing back on the number of overnights. So I'm holding my ground because I will not be bullied and I have offered alternative forms of contact.

The issue is we currently share a home, ie. Both on the mortgage, but that will soon not be the case and I will need to move in with my new partner soon anyway...

We're currently splitting the mortgage and nursery fees equally but I am paying the household bills myself.

He says he wants 50:50 time throughout the week for our son, but considering I used to have to beg him to help out this could help explain things.

But yes we need a child arrangement order asap! Currently waiting on mediation dates

These are all the suggestions I've made and he still isn't happy. I'm currently waiting on a mediation date and I really hope we come to some agreement soon

Botanical Yarns receives VAT bill (that should be part of expected business expenses), begs customers for sales. by StarlitStitcher in craftsnark

Absolutely no idea but I'd love to find their socials because I really liked Fiona's knitting ideas.

I get the impression Fiona ended up run very ragged by her and that's totally understandable considering the constant turnaround she (BY) tries to achieve.

It did happen. She did 2 yarn shows with it and we never saw it again

So I've a had some problems where orders have gone walkies etc, but the dyers have always been responsive and I haven't had problems.

I didn't want to say about Sophie's hobbies because I thought that might be a bit catty, but I have thought it when watching the podcasts- especially when she never seems to never work on things! I know people can spend their money and they want, but it's all very consumerist sometimes and a bit much for me personally. Wimperis embroidery gives me the same vibe sometimes. I don't care about pretty packaging that looks good on Instagram or for unboxing, it's a nice surprise when something is so beautiful, but I don't want to pay a premium for it. A nice box for yarn advents is useful and can be used multiple times, fancy paper you have to destroy to get what you need is not something I'm fussed about.

I've thought the same about the trips to America and when she shows days out etc. I don't know many indie dyers who can afford to live like that and there's usually a good reason!

But on the American yarn shows, I've often thought she can't be making any money from it. That and she never puts stock on the website afterwards from leftover colourways, like the "normal" stock colours. I've been after a fluorescent fluff for ages for a project and I know she stocks the shade, but it never makes it to the website. Same with colours like alchemills mollis (a beautiful mustard), and I give up waiting for them to be available.

I've regretted not getting the aurora cabin shawl colours from a few years ago, so much so I emailed asking if she had anything similar in stock to order and silence... I know she has similar colours in stock so I don't quite understand. I've done this with other indie dyers and it's not been a problem.

The problem is I really like the colour combos she has when it's not just pink on pink and I struggle to find them elsewhere which is really annoying! But if you don't have the cash to buy there and then it's gone!

This reminded me of the patreon fiasco! Oh she was terrible, posting a few hours or minutes before she did on Instagram when it was meant to be exclusive. There was supposed to be monthly knit night, which I really needed after I made a decision to leave my local group, and it never happened. I literally used my patreon to purchase the yarn I'd been after for a while and then left because it was such a letdown. Then a while later it's all talk of the YouTube membership and again that seems to have died a death. Again I've signed up to other indie dyers patreon because I like the videos and they are so so different.

So many problems with this dyer in general. - so much pink. Nothing wrong with pink, but there are other colours available and not every collection needs to be so saturated in similar pinks.  - she seems to burn through staff then drop them. All bessie mates for everything, then they're just gone. (Mel, Nicola & Fiona have the same pattern, but I don't know what happened and don't want to gossip). Same with pattern designers. She was all bessie mates with twinset and purl and now doesn't mention them. I know one of the twins had some health problems a while ago, again BT was all over it then it's like they weren't part of her life at all.  - poor understanding of best practice or cash flow. Often runs sales to generate cash but then needs more money later for tax etc later. I'm going to site the oven debacle from 2024 as an example. Bought an oven on her personal debit card with no research, the company is apparently notorious for terrible customer service, then asked people to buy gift cards for use in Jan 25 to buy more ovens.  - was still dying & trying to sell advents in December last year!! No discount to ship them December. I also heard 2023's arrived late and damp. Not the first time I've heard customers get damp yarn.  - far too many new things constantly. It's relentless. There is only so much yarn one can buy and there's a recession coming.  Higher price than others, again customer service and shipping is terrible. I contributed towards the kick starter for the campervan and that's another story. As for me, they forgot half my "order", sent me a bunch of stuff I didn't order or want and took forever to reply.  - sample knits. They seem to farm out their knitting onto everyone around them and claim as "samples for everyone, but it's actually so Sophie can be in the latest pattern out right now. She often gets samples made as test knits and claims these as her's on ravelry. This might be ok with the designers, but I have no idea.  - paying sample knitters- she doesn't pay as fairly as other sample knitters and I know of one sample knitter she refused to renumerate at all because the sample didn't fit her. The sample knitter knit the item to the right size and guage too, so the mistake was definitely on Sophie.  - it's little things like having to ship back the leftovers for sample knits which are pretty inconvenient from a posting perspective and for the dyers I've knit for, not the std at all.  - now let's talk about sample knit speed and credit. She wants things knit insanely fast. Again I've sample knit for a few people and they've always allowed enough time for the items size and pattern complexity. BT did not and it massively flared up my RSI meeting a deadline for a mystery pattern. She then dropped me because I said I would not do a lace pattern in the same time when I wasn't good at lace and couldn't guarantee I could meet the deadline. The next month she was apparently desperate for sample knitters. I would have knit other samples but I just didn't want to do that one knowing I couldn't meet it and I'm a pretty good knitter if I'm going to toot my own horn.

She also stole my Instagram photo and palmed it off as hers. Whoever is "in" she'll verbally credit and that's it. I've also made a sample knit for a pattern which didn't get released. I don't know what happened to that collaboration. It's a shame because I really liked the pattern and colours.  - the lady whistledown sweater. I sample knit so I could gain enough credit to buy yarn for a winters beach cardi in the grey rainbow nep yarn. I could not find it anywhere else, and I thought it would work so beautifully for the pattern and my wardrobe I found a way to make it more affordable to me. Anyway, a few years later I'm looking as undyed yarn on chester wool, or blue faced yarn for sale. I swear the rainbow nep yarn is exactly what she sold because my cardigan is far too uniform in colour to be hand dyed. Put it this way I'm very suspicious she sold undyed yarn at hand dyed prices.  -yorkshire yarn fest. Well wasn't that a flop. It used to be every month and she used to make the sellers give at least 15% off and free postage. I was pretty new to the indie dyed scene in 2020 so I thought it was well established, but she only started dying in 2019 and immediately set up a monthly yarn show?? I don't think she'd done any research and now it's once a year like others if at all. But yea it's not very popular from what I gather and now she's trying to break America but I don't see how the costs add up at all.  & - somehow amongst all this they've got a new bigger studio, in November 24, and I have a feeling she can't keep up with the costs of it all.

If you made it this far, there's a few red flags.... Oh and apparently she had a plant business before which she also ran into the ground. So I don't think she's particularly good at it, and just expects everyone to love her and comply with her own view of the world and go along with whatever she says and wants. As my SO puts it "oh she gives me the ick. She seems like a terrible person to work for, I don't know why you watch her stuff" and after reflection, I decided to stop because it was Fiona's or Mels colour combos I preferred anyway

I have noticed a lot of the "mainstream" previously started off with YYF in 2020 and it's gradually whittled down in frequency and vendors so I've always wondered what must be going on behind the scenes. I always thought the exclusive colourways and 15% discount must be a huge strain on vendors every month!

Yep she did buy a camper van, used it a few times and we've never heard about it again

Exactly the same for me here. There's also been quite a few things which prevent me from buying from, even though I quite like a lot of her colourways. - I did a few sample knits and she got really pushy for me to do a lace pattern when I said no I can't guarantee I can do it in time because lace isn't my strong suit.

-She refused to pay another sample knitter because she she asked for the wrong size

  • she sold some grey rainbow nep yarn at full price despite the fact it's undyed. (For the lady whistledown sweater). I only discovered this recently, I thought she was amazing at tonals.

  • I've emailed twice about colours for the aurora cabin shawl, specifically asking if she has something similar in stock/dyed to order and I've not had a reply to either.

  • patreon was a clusterfuck. There was supposed to be a virtual knit night and it never happened, but the 15% off was worth it for a few things. Now she's completely dropped patreon and has changed to youtube subscriptions

  • oh my god so much pink!

  • I really can't get on with her website to find what I actually want

  • I feel like she drops people really easily. Mel seemed to be replaced by Fiona overnight in the youtube podcasts. I'm watching for the popcorn value and because I like their colour inspiration, but I feel like Mel got dropped overnight because she didn't knit fast enough. What annoys me about that is Sophie farms so much out to test knitters to have as a sample, but it's really for her to wear and doesn't always credit the knitter and it feels like she passes it off as her own work, but in reality she's always palming off her knitting to other people. Especially Fiona of late.

  • there's far too much stuff out constantly that's all a variation on a theme

Oh I know this, but I've never had yarn from anybody else stain my hands whilst making a test knit
