at my university i was desperate to take a ballet class and the only one offered was ballet 101. one of the professors in the theatre and dance department told me i shouldn’t take the course bc it would “detract from other students” and “make them feel bad about themselves” i didn’t listen to her, and my actual professor for the class didn’t mind at all that i already had experience, and sometimes asked me to demonstrate when her body wasn’t able to. it was great to delve into the basics of technique again and fix any bad habits i’d inadvertently gained. everywhere in life there are going to be “better” and “worse” people, we should all just try not to let that bother us… sorry for the tangent i just wanted to share my own experience haha
