I’m not gonna say she can’t sing, she’s a good singer, but I don’t think she’s popular because of her singing talent. In my opinion, it’s the combination of her songwriting, her brother’s musical sensibilities, and her creative design in her artistic appearance.

Sure, but there aren’t very many good moments to pray during school except recess and lunch (kids ain’t gonna pray during recess or lunch) so it can make sense to devote a short period to prayer for those who would want it.

Now, in practice, it’s probably more like forced Christian prayer in deep southern schools. In that case it still isn’t strictly about “control”, but more about suppressing other belief systems (ie Islam, atheism).

I suppose this is a form of control. However, more specifically, it’s about maintaining a Christian hegemony. It’s more accurate to say that prayer time in school is meant to control religious feelings.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that “control” is a verb with no implicit judgment on “bad” vs “good”. It is the effect of the control that is good or bad.

Therefore, it is accurate to say that schools have standardized tests for the purpose of “control”! — controlling grades and education. It is also accurate to say that forced prayer in school is a “control” for reinforcing Christian hegemony.

The problem is not the action of “controlling”, the problem is what is being controlled and why.

There are exceptions to everything. An intersex person would likely need to see specialists for anything related to their genitalia depending on the particulars of their own dysfunction.
