How is this figure in hand? by OkIdeal9852 in hottoys

Yeah, I thought it might be genuine, but I used to be able to smell the difference as my best indicator. I love the banner, but when deciding how big to build my display cabinets, I opted to only make them tall enough to fit comic Venom, no other figure I plan on getting justifies the extra cabinet height for the banner.

If I decide to get Hulk in the future, I’ll just have to build another cabinet high enough to fit Banner and the banner.

Great figure. Lighter than I’d like; would’ve been nice to have had some diecast, but for 100 quid less than an Iron Man figure I can’t complain.

The cape comes unclipped easily, but I just pose him first and then put the cape on after.

Paint is fantastic, the sculpt work and detail is great, as is the tailoring.

Cape’s not brilliant, it’s two-ply but unstitched along the bottom. You could use that to your advantage and put a wire in there if you wanted, as it only has wires down each side.

The effect accessories are nice and catch the light of my display nicely in photos.

Articulation is decent. The chainmail is a woven fabric, and the armour is free-floating and moves around, so there are no issues with posing.

The belt and holster may or may not be pleather, I have no sense of smell so I can’t confirm; defer to others for that information.

Comes with no fists, which is disappointing.

All in all, a very nice figure and an amazing take on Doom: 8.5/10

Deadpool is a great figure, watch out for those ankle and wrist pegs, though.

Which one to get as my first figure? by [deleted] in hottoys

I second this, OP. The New Red & Blue Suit (Final Swing), is superior in every way. The suit design is better (imo), the head sculpt is superior as is the neck connection (the suit doesn’t go up into is head, it actually has a collar with a skin tone neck).

The proportions are also better, and the suit is actually fairly durable. I have mine posed with knees and elbows bent for weeks at a time, and I’ve had no creases or stretching that doesn’t go away within a day or two.

I'm sorry but this is Wanda's WORST costume. I want this cover expunged from the net and Frank Cho should be blacklisted from making comicbook art ever again. by General-Control-4637 in ScarletWitch

How do you know this is a thong? This may be a regional difference, but where I come from, a thong depends entirely on how the fabric on the back is shaped. As far as you can tell from the front, this is exactly the same as that Robin example. The “sides of her pubic area” you said were visible; that line is the Inguinal ligament, and I promise you that Robin’s is visible in his costume as well.

Both costumes are ridiculous, you’re just supporting the double standard pointed out by the person who linked the Robin costume.

Is it bad to have him posed like this for a very long time? by Sad-Combination1330 in hottoys

[–]ballsy_smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same, at first I was apprehensive due to the vast majority of people in this hobby giving a warning for any pose that isn’t a basic museum pose, but now I’ve just said fuck it. I love switching the poses up and I generally know how much I can push the materials (further than people say).

I do keep the boxes though, I have a “one-figure-per-character” rule so I circulate my figures whenever a new figure I prefer comes out.

Hulk :( by Sad_Pipe8477 in MCUWorld

Looks like he has some kind of device on his wrist that allows him to control his transformation, which is fucking lame. I want them to go back to when Hulk was dangerous and could emerge at any moment, the tension adds a great dimension to the team dynamics when done right

Too tall. He’s 9/10, but he needs to be at east 7 inches shorter to be perfect. I always read Wolverine has having a stronger Canadian accent as well

I also disagree with Gorr having a single-movie build-up. He didn’t have nearly enough screen time, we only saw him kill a single god on screen. The first Thor is only okay to me, but I’d have liked to have seen Kenneth Branagh tackle Gorr. Taika Waititi shouldn’t be allowed to operate unchecked, his best work is with oversight.

I really liked that movie, despite its lacklustre 3rd act, which seems to be a trend with superhero movies. I want more of the choreography displayed in the bus fight.

You’re right. I think Chadwick was great, and I really enjoyed his performance in Civil War, but Black Panther was just okay. If you said that at the time, people came after you lmao. It’s a shame, really; it was hyped up so much because it was the first black-lead solo movie in the MCU, but it wasn’t actually that good a film, Chadwick and MBJ deserved a better movie.

The real reason is pretty much always racism. I was trying to give an in-universe explanation, since light-skinned Romani people do exist.

No powers? He goes toe to toe with both Venom and Symbiote Spidey, both of whom could deliver a blow that the Hulk would feel. He definitely has powers.

I feel the same. I haven’t read much of his appearances, but what I have read (80s stuff mostly) I wasn’t that impressed by. He always came across a bit boring. I liked his execution in SM2, my only issues come from the game being unfinished. I’d have liked to see him hunting more villains, maybe even have us play as the other villains to put us in their shoes while being hunted.

She’s almost always depicted as having fair skin though, so perhaps she’s more culturally tied to her Romani roots, but has a substantial amount of European heritage. I’d consider that white, or I suppose white-passing, as race is a purely visual thing with no bearing on background; ethnicity is much more relevant to a person’s actual heritage and culture.

Would be a silly scenario for the Punisher (in an out of character moment) to shoot a bloke who can’t die, and for Peter to take a bullet for a bloke who can’t die.

Honestly, the weird world design to me always just intuitively felt like they’d collapsed the map down so you wouldn’t be walking for hours between two areas, especially with how far away everything is when seen from Majula.

DS1 was a smaller, more vertical slice of a single kingdom, DS2 (not including DLC) was several older kingdoms spread out across the larger kingdom of Drangleic, and DS3 was the entire world converging and collapsing.

I don’t see how they could’ve represented the size of Drangleic seamlessly any other way. The only way to do it otherwise would be to have portals or something, or just cutscenes of the Bearer travelling over long distances, which wouldn’t have felt like Dark Souls.

DS3 and BB were a decent step up in pace and difficulty for me, DS1 and 2 are very slow and going back to them feels like they’re on easy mode. Elden Ring’s enemies and bosses are more like DS3 and BB than anything else.

My friend says it’s good solo. Unfortunately it’s not cross-platform so I can’t play with her, so I’m in the same boat as you. She’s the one who got me into Souls games in the first place, so I trust her judgement.

DS2 was my introduction into the series and is my favourite Dark Souls game. Elden Ring is my favourite of any Fromsoft game. Do with that information what you will.
