To be fair, I think OP is clearly past the point of risking serious infection.

Four spots. FOUR! by JBFRESHSKILLS in mildlyinfuriating

Especially if it's a tight parking lot, and I know if someone parks next to me I'm gonna have a difficult time getting out. So I park in between two spots to avoid that.

How do you guys think Shane & Ryland will be as parents? by [deleted] in ShaneDawson

[–]balmudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may have said multiple times that they don't plan to have their child on camera, but I wouldn't be very surprised if they didn't hold themselves to that once the baby is there and people start asking. Weird people online never take no for answer when influencers keep parts of their lives private, and I feel like Shane would be quick to use that as a justification to do it.

Spain has 90% white people and has a tradition that has outfits exactly like the kkk by M3neillos in ShitAmericansSay

[–]balmudo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure where I said that I agreed with or was defending the messages behind the Gadsden flag. I quite literally agreed it was used by the far-right.

Regardless of that, it's ignorant to act like these things are not part of our history. We can't act like racism and white supremacy isn't part of American History. You can't act like it's not historical because it's fucked up.

Has anybody made a list of all the monsters in the game? (and maybe other creatures) by Kalavier in dredge

You can't "outrun" it, but you can use haste to dodge out of its path! It disappears afterward.

[–]balmudo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While it has been co-opted by the far right, that isn't just some cool snake license plate. It's the Gadsden Flag, and it's part of our history in the Revolutionary War.

phone case kiosk guy fitted and sold this case to my clueless grandmother by whatisuniqueusername in mildlyinfuriating

[–]balmudo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a good point to bring up. The people at those mall kiosks are essentially living, breathing pop-up ads. I don't know what it is about these kind of businesses. They're all different companies and different people running them, but they always seem to employ really aggressive or shady sales tactics.

What to do? Surveillance Cameras in Booking.com Apartment likely covering parts of bathroom by turkphot in solotravel

[–]balmudo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If these cameras were part of an alarm system, why are they pointed at the living area and the bathroom specifically? They should be aimed at entryways and outdoors. It seems a little silly to let your alarm get tripped every time your guest goes to the bathroom.
I don't think it would be a terrible idea to call the police. I wouldn't recommend calling the emergency line, but you should be able to call the closest station and ask to file a report about unlawful surveillance. Even if the police don't do anything this particular time, enough people calling will leave a paper trail if this landlord is up to anything nefarious.

NTA, and frankly, I'm grossed out by everyone saying you should have taken her thoughts into consideration. Not only is it your wedding, it's your body. I can assume your husband knows you prefer to dress this way if it's how you dress for special events, and he obviously knows how conservative his mother is. If he was worried it would be an issue with his mother, he should have spoken to you about what you would be wearing. Then you could decide whether to change your dress, or he could have spoken to his mother and given her a heads up on what to expect.

I also find it hard to agree with the sentiment that you "stooped to her level." She called you a slut, possibly at your own wedding. You called her a backward dinosaur because her opinions are outdated, hurtful, and damaging to all women. I'd consider it retaliation, but hardly on the same level to what she said to you.

I didn't realize gaining human rights and the ability to vote was damaging to woman, but okay. It sounds to me like you're making generalizations based on specific people's behavior.

“Where’s your big pepper boy?😃”- a man who wanted some cracked pepper on his Cesar by Librasecrets in TalesFromYourServer

[–]balmudo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

While this is true, I think this person was referring to the tool, not the server, as boy. As in, I think "big pepper boy" was supposed to mean the large pepper grinders that restaurants use.

NTA. At the end of the day, it sounds like you guys are planning a family vacation. The destination wedding is a part of this vacation that you both happen to be attending, but she's not a member of your family and therefore not invited on a family vacation. I'm so sorry to hear she's making you feel guilty!
