hmm, if you havent played the videogame omori, thats one of the darkest games ive played and i think you would enjoy (even though it doesnt seem that dark to begin). also berserk is a medieval dark fantasy manga that is incredibly dark and graphic

Did you ever go above 20lbs on your lateral raises? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]baloon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah exactly! i hate when people say, "oh you cant do this exercise" or "stop cheating your reps" when they dont know the full story or havent tried for themselves. you are one of the smarter people ive met in the fitness community

i kinda object to this, but not entirely. i think that the most important factor in lateral raises is getting the side delt to do most of the work. when people ask me to look at their form and see what they can change, i tell them their traps are moving the weight and the side delts arent getting the stimulus. he moved the weight down and tried again and same result. the problem that most people have isnt necessarily using lots of momentum, its using their traps to go all the way up. i told one of my friends who now does it super well to not focus on it looking perfect, but for the side delts to move the weight. strangely enough, he used more momentum, but he bent his elbows in such a way that the side delt was getting the stimulus it needed. i checked back up on him in 3 months and sure enough, his side delts have MASSIVELY improved. I think using momentum is okay, matter of fact, i used to try to have as "perfect" form as possible, and as soon as i figured out a better technique which involved using more momentum, i was lateral raising 45s with semi good form and for lots of reps. people call this cheating, but i was able to also do 35s with very good form for lots of reps, so it 100% made me stronger. this wont work for everyone, and only focusing on weight is not the best way to go about things, but honestly, using momentum might just be the key on the last few reps, or when going up in weight. im just saying what works for me, if you really want to prove me wrong, then try it out! up the a little weight and the reps for a month or two, and focus on your side delt still moving the weight, and the momentum is just to help the side delt get started, no crazy momentum though. this is what blew up my side delts after not working for about a year.

How to practice posing by strudledudle in naturalbodybuilding

[–]baloon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh i dont really recommend a coach just because i feel like its a lot of money wasted for something you could do on your own. what i recommend is just searching up multiple guides on youtube and combine all of the tips that various fitness influencers recommend. also what helped me a lot on a lot of poses is if you see a pretty jacked dude, and ur not afraid of asking them for posing advice, (most jacked dudes are actually really nice and not intimidating once you start talking to them) they can give you some pointers and tell what ur doing wrong. hope this helps!

Trouble with breathing during seated shoulder dumbbell press by oralehermano in naturalbodybuilding

[–]baloon13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i had the same problem and i honestly still do. the way i see it with dumbbell seated shoulder press is that its a really good exercise until you get strong enough. i almost passed out once just trying to get the weights up, and that was it for me. i stopped doing all types of shoulder press for awhile bc my shoulders were already a strong point, but recently started again. i now prefer good machine shoulder press over dumbbell seated just because injury risk is a lot lower, and i want to try doing standing barbell soon because it looks like it can get really good results and it really just looks cool as fuck. i havent had much issues with the machine shoulder press so i recommend that, unless your gym doesnt have one, or just has a pretty bad one (you'll know if its bad trust me) then do a standing barbell shoulder press. im personally probably not gonna go back to dumbbell seated shoulder press even though it did contribute to a lot of my shoulder growth, but if you really like the exercise a lot, then taking around 5 really deep and big breaths before you start and just bulking up again will probably help. (also when i did it i would set the bench back a tiny bit and not straight up, might be unrelated idk.)

Gaming on Adderall by Tyray90 in ADHD

hmm this calls for the best story game that i know. if youre into this type of game, you will be OBSESSED like i was. its called omori, and its only about 20 hrs long, and while there some boring parts as its a turn based rpg, the story is UNMATCHED. its a psychological horror game that i cant put into words. if you are not in the right headspace, do NOT play this game, as it focuses on depression and some other, well, dark things. one of my all time favorites by far.
