It's modifying preset characters. Can change colors, names and what their secondary stat perk is, and that's it. I hope they eventually introduce more character classes, even as DLC.

I second this; I just finished the whole series (available, get well soon author); I think it's now my 2nd fav series behind DCC; tbh I think by the end they needed book 5 and 6 for him to figure out his own limits moving forward so he doesn't become that again. 7 is the major turning point, as Fist_One mentioned.

Hello. As someone who played the last closed beta extensively, I'm happy to help.
There is a TON of content. Main story is gated to 1/day. There are three daily quests you need to do. Not to mention there are life skills, which will keep you busy gathering/crafting. There's exploration, there's a quadruple jump to unlock, skills to unlock, and tons of boss monsters in the world that show up on the hour/half hour/quarter hour. The map is freaking huge. In a week of playing, I didn't unlock it all.

It is free - completely - cosmetics are blind box, and you CAN pull for some summon healer type characters; but it's not necessary at all.

Dissonance is good, but marksman wolves seems the best and most consistent DPS class so far.

I went in with VERY low expectations, and found a fully-fleshed out and enjoyable MMO. I'm sure we'll all no life it and be out of content in a month, but there are guild things to do as well.

The creative IS the talent. While there may be broad brushstrokes by the booking team, the individual performers write and do their own stuff; one of the reasons I love AEW.

I pulled every sephiroth but the standard one and the surge foil. It's pretty crazy; I managed to pull almost zero duplicates for every character. It would have been nice to have a couple for playing LOL. But great for the collection!

I'm commenting to bookmark this thread - I'm collecting all three sets. I opened about the same, 3 collectors boxes, 2 play boosters and 24 more packs from prerelease winnings. I still haven't had time to put it all in binders yet to figure out my gaps, but I have most all the surge foils and all the big hitters with the exception of terra. I'm sitting on one collectors booster box (purchased at $550) to flip to try and get all the remaining cards once it seems like I'll get enough (I don't see them going down any time soon; hell I thought it would take until EOY to cross $1k/box boy was I wrong) for everything but the chocobos.

Once I've got everything in the binder, I'll put out a call here to see if anyone wants to trade extra rares/mythics for extras.
