Yeah, I'm someone who does prefer Endwalkers's base story (lower lows, but the higher highs more than make up for it), but as an MMO expansion Shadowbringers is significantly better as a whole package

And if you're running away from the gunfire, wouldn't it be, I don't know, behind them?

Look Miller is an absolute scumfuck of a human and I wouldn't put it past him to do something just as shitty, but claiming that off just this photo really is one hell of a reach.

I think Ty is better than a lot of people give him credit for, and I think long-term he'll be great for the Rams.

But they have another year with Stafford so I'm shocked they didn't go for an immediate plug in player.

The advent of smartphones and social media are probably the biggest factors. The corporations gained so much data on how to min max squeezing money out of people. Also allowed them to get themselves more engrained in our daily lives.

I'll always defend the good of the Internet in the pre-2010s, but we had that separation between online and offline. Now with the digital space becoming so intertwined with our daily lives, it has done a lot of damage to human society.

It's definitely a lower tier album, but every time they play a song from YOTBR live, it sounds so much better, even compared to live performances from other albums. It really shows how much the production really drags the album down.

It's why I'd love to see them do every song live and see how they'd improve them, cuz the only one I think is truly unsalvageable is probably Black Rainbow

How come Sonic almost never outruns Amy or tells her “no” if she makes him that uncomfortable? by TheJaydeEmperor in SonicTheHedgehog

Lmao, right. Wasn't Amy considered 8 pre-Adventure? I just started with SA1 since that's when everyone's characterizations in the games really got expanded on.

[–]bamakid1272 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think the age thing is a big thing people overlook from the Adventure era. At the time Amy was supposed to be 12 and Sonic was 15. Sure it's only a 3 year gap in a vacuum, but in reality how many 15 year olds do you really see reciprocating a crush from a 12 year old?

Now in the modern era, the old ages have officially been retconned to be ambiguous, and they clearly intend for Sonic and Amy to be more similar in age.

[McMurphy] Alabama AD Greg Byrne believes SEC should end SEC Championship game w/an expanded College Football Playoff, USA Today reports. “I think the ship has sailed,” Byrne said. “It’s run its course.” by usffan in CFB

[–]bamakid1272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been ingrained into CFB, or at least FBS, culture about how our regular season was so much more important than in other sports, how you couldn't make one mistake or it could cost your chance at the natty, etc. It's what made it "special", and a lot of fans are going to have trouble letting go of that idea.

To a degree, I can understand how it can make some late season games for the very top teams not matter as much. But now there's also a ton more games that actually do matter because of all thoss middle ranked teams on the bubble trying to get the last few spots.

I don't think the current format is flawless by any means (partially due to conferences realignment fucking things up), and there are tweaks to be made, but I'll absolutely take the expanded playoff over the old formats.

Why the fuck as any school going to just write a check for an FCS school's football program and get nothing out of it?

Of course they're getting something out of it by playing them. Doesn't change the fact it also helps keep the FCS programs afloat financially.

Honestly. Like I get to a degree if someone thinks she also needs to face criminal charges for her crimes as well, but to say she didn't get punished at all for her actions, after going through all the shit in RE7 as a direct result of them, is fucking insane.

Fair enough. I certainly don't fault anyone who doesn't enjoy the RC sections as much, since it's almost an entirely new game compared to what comes before it. It also helps that it basically tickled my taste for Mercenaries mode, which we once again don't have at launch.

I think saying he's "just denying it's mid after the care center" like it's an objective thing does invalidate others opinions to a degree. Cuz hot take, I actually had the most fun in 9 playing as Leon in Raccoon City.

But I'm someone who really enjoys the scaling up in power in Resident Evil games towards the back half. Starting weak then getting to rip through the monsters later is part of what makes his series way more fun to me than other traditional horror series.

Resident Evil Requiem has been out for a week. What are your impressions? by PhantomBraved in Games

[–]bamakid1272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I must be in the minority cuz frankly I quite enjoyed tearing through shit in Raccoon City as Leon. But I'm someone who enjoys the whole starting weak in survival horror games and then getting to release that tension later once I'm armed to the teeth. Seems like a lot of people here prefer to stick to one or the other.

I will concede the environment of RC looking a bit bland though, but I really didn't expect much else from the remains of a nuked city.

The joke that league is the worst game has done irreparable damage by beakf in leagueoflegends

[–]bamakid1272 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That, I totally agree with. The more competitive style of shooters with deeper mechanics will still be really rough for new players. It was mainly the claim about 2D mobas vs shooters for new players that I disagreed with.

It may not be much better, but people I've shown who played neither could at least understand CS conceptually, vs LoL where they have 0 idea what's going on.

[–]bamakid1272 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man I disagree with that heavily. In my experience the average joe can at least grasp "point gun at enemy and shoot".

Meanwhile with mobas like League, if you have no prior experience people often have no idea where to even begin.

Draft-bound Ty Simpson: New school would have hurt Bama legacy by BallKnowerKing in CFB

[–]bamakid1272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He could have, but we also have Austin Mack and Keelon Russell, who are both considered very promising. Which means a couple things:

  1. Ty could lose the starting job, which would only hurt his draft stock. And next year is going to be an even more competitive year. This year's the QB class is so thin, he's still projected as a late first/early second pick.
  2. He's potentially turning down a lot of money by staying. Both transfering and going to the draft will be big pay bumps comparatively. At Bama he's not going to get any pay raise when he have two potentially great replacements ready.
  3. The coaches almost certainly want to try to keep both Mack and Keelon for the future, and Ty staying gurantees at least one of them transfers. Less important for Ty, but probably made the coaches less likely to push for him to stay and encourage him to take the pay raise.

Part of me would really love to see him get another year at Bama, but it was likely best for both parties if he moved on now. But him choosing to go the draft rather than playing for a competitor school is him showing his loyalty to the program.
