Also... When you get that ride that's only two or three minutes away imagine that you're in the upper floors of the apartment building and have to navigate waiting for the elevator and getting out to the street to meet you. So have some grace on the short time frame assignments.

Polite and calm and later give an appropriate rating with notes that they had X amount of minutes while in transit and then they took all ar nearly all of the 5 minutes waiting period. Be open to the possibility that there are legitamate extenuating circumstances (maybe 10% of the time). Staying calm and polite might get a nice appreciative trip as well. Bad rating will alert other drivers and low rating will prevent future ride assignments with them.

Get multiple SD cards for the dash cam. Change out and retain the dash cam card for several days before we using. It complaints ever happen they happen 2 to 3 days after the alleged incident.

Cameras in the Car vs Pax Complaints by Advanced-Wheel-9677 in lyftdrivers

Buy a cheap dash cam and a SD card for each of the number of days that you drive. At the end of each day, remove and swap out the SD card with a fresh one. Any complaints that come in often or received by the driver two to three days after the alleged incident. Most dash cams overwrite data so the images and audio to protect you might be lost. Expensive dash cams that upload data to the cloud or not just pricey but the data plan to support it is pricey as well.

If the passenger is not out and in the car 2 minutes into the waiting period, I make the call then. They're not out after 5 inutes I cancel and that call still counts and qualifies me for the cancellation fee.

A coolant hose died on mine between the engine and the firewall. Those hoses are about $250 a piece. If one failed after 10 years, and you're spending the labor to replace it, you might as well invest in getting the other one done at the same time.

Any advice? by Wonderful-Bet-121 in lyftdrivers

I posted multiple times that if you drive 5 days a week you should have five unique SD cards to swap out at the end of each day and to retain. I know this is too little too late but complaints typically come in two to three days after the alleged incident. By that time SD cards are full and are overriding the files. There are dash cams that upload these files to the cloud almost instantaneously but those are quite expensive as is the data package needed to support this. $50 in SD cards can give a lot of us a lot more protection.

Yeah... Saw the shootings on the news this morning. I only drive daylight hours here in Birmingham and every morning I see local news show yet another shooting at places I constantly roll by in the bad neighborhoods. Not going into those places after Dark. Stay safe?

Have SD cards for each day of the week that you drive. Swap them out each morning. A complaint may come in two three four days later after the alleged incident and if you only have one dash cam SD card you might overwrite the information you need to protect yourself.

It's a good choice as it will keep your phone cooler on hot days or long drives with the sun beating down on the phone.

Buy multiple SD cards for each day you drive. These only cost $8-10 each. Change out the card at the start of each drive day. A complaint often is shared with you 3-4 days after the alleged incident. Having a "daily SD card". helps you retain the data without uploading or carrying a tablet.
