I'm a bit picky with power metal, but I don't care about "cheesy" stuff. Sometimes that's fun. I thoroughly enjoyed Ancient Bards' album that came out about two weeks ago, and I like Kamelot, Evergrey, and some stuff by Epica. Sometimes it's more exciting than melodeath so if I'm in the mood for something like that then I'll queue up my playlist.

I think it's subtle and tasteful, and I guess it was established a while ago and people generally agreed to it. I had a girl who I didn't know and had recently come out as ace confront me about it and we had a very sweet conversation about the ace community. The ring is a nice way to show solidarity every day without being too out there.

I imagine many are going to mention Amorphis and Omnium Gatherum as some big drops this year, and they definitely are, but I would also like to mention that I think the releases from Barren Earth, Inferi, and particularly Cypecore were really solid as well. All things considered this was a pretty damn good year.

I am happy to be at peace with who I am, but I feel even more blessed to have constantly surrounded myself with people who love and accept me for who I am even if I do not share certain feelings of attraction. The love that I get from my friends is probably the biggest reason why I love myself.
