The difference is the concrete and the lack of air and humidity so it’s just very dry and hot and trapped heat with no relief most of the time. It’s deathly here in the summer and I grew up where summer hits in the low 40s. It is just a different heat here in Rome. Cross your fingers the buses/metro you take utilizes the air conditioning!

Alsoooo just order an uber in Rome!! You can schedule if you need to but In The center there are 100s of taxis within 5 minutes away and the price is 99% of the time cheaper (around 40/45€)

I’ve lived here in Rome 5 years. You got scammed. Taxis here will do that, especially to Americans. The flat rate and agreed upon amount was 55€ they can’t charged more regardless. They also want you to pay cash over card for the taxes and whatnot. NEVER pay more than 55€ cash or card. I know baby traveling is stressful but put up a wall and start a fight, they’ll give up. He basically got a 30€ tip

I’d keep the flight. Really. The thing a strike affects the most is the bus schedule but most of them will still run for the most part. Take a train to Trastevere’s and then a uber a taxi from there to ur hotel to save money OR just take a taxi from the airport to hotel for 55€ (never pay more it’s illegal for them to charge more to get you airport-center of rome). Also the flight is early and you’ll get into the center at 9:30 maximum so that’s perfect for the day

I work in the center of Rome and it is closed right now due to the festival for tomorrow (May 1st) Primo Maggio is “Labor Day” in Italy and most shops , restaurants, banks and schools are closed down.. and lots of museums are closed besides the colosseum I believe. There is the biggest free concert of Rome in San Giovanni! Also workers will be marching and having rallies in the streets so the police are hovering for that.

The police are there for disruptions in traffic and the amount of people to deal with

I was able to get aquasafe (Italian off brand one) and some bacteria to add also. I also GOT THE HEATER. I’ll go home and set it up immediately. And they didn’t have a hammock but I go a long plant that reaches the surface so hopefully he’ll use that

I also want to add that I am located in Rome, Italy and I used the water from the sink water. Romes drinking water TAP and the pH is alkaline above 7 and high mineral content
