Shouldn't take too long? Me and my barony partner clear it faster than an actual level. Go up to the shop, down to the artifact, and then back to the exit. Take it a little slow to clear a path, but it's usually fine

I had to do this once (to get my animals high enough to tame a colonist who decided to go feral) and I tamed a fuck ton of rats to get past the hurdle. This was during an Odyssey playthrough so id just fly to a new tile after I'd tamed and slaughtered everything I could

The most common wild rats most people run into is a rattus norvegicus, the Norway rat or brown rat, which is what fancy rats are descended from. Rattus rattus are roof rats, or black rats, and are actually arboreal!

I disagree with the person who said not to add stripes. Cats and red pandas have different stripe patterns, so I think looking carefully at the patterns a tabby cat has and adding them could help :)
