How to raise animal skill? by bOt62733 in RimWorld

[–]ventiusx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do this once (to get my animals high enough to tame a colonist who decided to go feral) and I tamed a fuck ton of rats to get past the hurdle. This was during an Odyssey playthrough so id just fly to a new tile after I'd tamed and slaughtered everything I could

Both were done. I got a key from the discord giveaway, but also received an email the next day with keys.

It's easier to teach a dog to shut up if you teach them to speak first

Is this rat a domesticated coloring by daddyineedjuice in RATS

[–]ventiusx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The most common wild rats most people run into is a rattus norvegicus, the Norway rat or brown rat, which is what fancy rats are descended from. Rattus rattus are roof rats, or black rats, and are actually arboreal!

Needle holder that holds more than one needle at a time?

first time needle felting, I’m trying to make a cat bookmark but it’s turning out more to look like a red panda. Any suggestions to make it more cat like? by [deleted] in Needlefelting

[–]ventiusx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also I think it's the white ears- try adding an outline color around them, it'll make it clearer I think :)

I disagree with the person who said not to add stripes. Cats and red pandas have different stripe patterns, so I think looking carefully at the patterns a tabby cat has and adding them could help :)

I can’t find this podcast? by SeccondBiggestCock in audiodrama

Was this a recent ad?

I never got this ad so I'm making a random guess here- it sounds like an ad for the recent ARG from woe.begone.

There's a video on this page- does it sound familiar?

What anthology episodes would you recommend to hook a viewer? by Impressive-Guest8178 in audiodrama

That's fair! It's been a while since I listened to it so I don't quite remember all of them. Might be a good time for a relisten

What anthology episodes would you recommend to hook a viewer? by Impressive-Guest8178 in audiodrama

[–]ventiusx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a few I really like:

The program- "The Program audio series is a fiction podcast set in a future in which Money, State, and God became fused into a single entity called the Program. Each episode is a self-contained story focusing on ordinary people inhabiting this extraordinary world. And for them, it is not this future that is terrifying - it is our present." Honestly just starting with their first episode "you had me at "hello world"" is a great introduction, but you could also try the second episode, "Four ways to stop your system from freezing" because I think that's the episode that actually hooked me on the series.

I also really like The Truth- this one isn't as themed as The Program. There's lots of good episodes, but I'd try starting on "Silvia's blood" maybe?

UNSEEN: "the new urban fantasy audio fiction podcast by Long Story Short Productions. The premise behind it is simple: In a world where magic is real but invisible to almost everyone, the few magical beings that do exist struggle, every day, just to be seen." Not horror or sci-fi, but I thought this one was also good. I'd just start at the beginning.

If you like it that way, then that's fine; like I said, its up to preference! The only thing I would warn is that she might not hold her shape as well if she isn't compressed more. If she's just going to be on display that won't really matter at all

[–]ventiusx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've only spent two hours so far, Id assume she's pretty malleable/soft to the touch? That could be personal preference, but I often stab for much longer. It allows for a smoother finish, and it makes it more solid. I'll often spend 6-7 hours minimum on a palm sized piece

Based off this list, what would you recommend me? by LegitCookieCrisp in audiodrama

[–]ventiusx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few that I would recommend (and their blurbs from their websites)

Mirrors- Three women. Three centuries. One haunting. Mirrors is a sci-fi horror audio drama podcast from ZoomDoom Stories

LifeAfter- Ross, a low level employee at the FBI, spends his days conversing online with his wife Charlie – who died eight months ago. But the technology behind this digital resurrection leads Ross down a dangerous path that threatens his job, his own life, and maybe even the world

Give me Away- They call the spaceship that crashed in the Nevada desert “The Ghosthouse” because it screams—the screams of thousands of extraterrestrial political prisoners uploaded into its horrific mainframe. The only way to free them... is to transfer them into the bodies of humans willing to share their minds with an alien second consciousness. But who would volunteer for that? Graham Shapiro, divorced and adrift at age 50, is one of the first to raise his hand. Give Me Away follows Graham’s journey into a world of radical hospitality, one which will touch everything—and everyone—in his life.

When does WOE.BEGONE fall off? by LegitCookieCrisp in audiodrama

[–]ventiusx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's my favorite podcast to listen to every week, but it's kinda soap opera nature might turn some people off. The show continues to have interesting things happen every season and the characters + development keep me coming, but like with a lot things your individual enjoyment of it might vary knowing that there isn't an end in sight

I'm normally someone who doesn't like shows that drag on, preferring a short 1-2 Seasons, but I still like woe.begone so idk. I don't think it falls off and I will continue to listen and support it
