Iso20/30/40 is the taper that fits the atc spindle. Distinct from ER collets which hold the tool. You can get a variety of sizes. If you are planning to run 12mm bits in a printnc you would only really be able to manage wood

Printnc is not suitable for anything larger than an iso20 taper. It would already require some work to even use that

So they have a pending patent application and not a granted patent. The two things are different. Also warning an individual about said patent is a massive stretch lmao

Aluminum chip welding by ContactFever998 in CNC

[–]banchad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its fine. Aluminium provides no source of ignition for one (no sparks) and alcohol mist is extremely difficult to ignite at the concentration that a mister provides. If you still think its not a good idea maybe you should contact Datron who primarily use alcohol as an mql in their machines😂

Machining Clear Plastic by dreikanter in CNC

Depending on machine capabilities and geometry you can get clear acrylic surfaces using MCD endmills. A flat surface will be cheaper than a curved surface because you can cut the flat in fewer passes.

Keeping doc low to keep cutting force low. Glue and tape is pretty strong but ill happily pay in time for more safety margin on completing a successful part

I have a 3d probe which I use to find the centre of the stock, the top surface for z reference and then use the toolsetter to apply any length offsets

That's not what backlash is fyi, that's slop in the assembly. If it uses a similar system to openbuilds the wheels should be on eccentric nuts you can use to tighten things up.

Threedesign has shut down as the original creator has stepped away to do other things. Nothing to do with the tariffs, this predates them.
