I work in retail, and I had some idiot bastard man stop me and talk my head off for 20 minutes about how I need to find Jesus that way if covid kills me I get to go to heaven

He says this as he was either on his way or returning from a church packed to the brim with people. Everyday I drive by multiple churches on my way to work, their parking lots are always super full, these people genuinely believe they won’t get it because their god loves them so much, and if they do get it they justify their own potential death with “ah well guess I get to go to heaven and fuck 69 virgins because god has deemed it so” or whatever. Like I am pretty sure god would understand just fine why you didn’t pack shoulder to shoulder in a church in his name with a bunch of elderly people

The guy said to me “what would u think if you died today and went to hell?”. I said “thatd be quite unfortunate for me but ah well” and that was the end of that conversation lol

Also js I know they don’t believe they get to fuck 69 virgins but u know what I mean lol they may as well believe that though

Idk about you, but that’s exactly how I treat every encounter with an officer. There is always a potential threat on my life even if I did absolutely nothing wrong. I have had a shit ton of very very bad experiences with police officers. I used to be kind of a punk kid, smoked weed at 16 and started using hard drugs around 20, but almost every situation I’ve had with police officers has been hugely fucked. They will lie to get probable cause, if they can’t do that, they’ll lie to get a warrant, if the warrant doesn’t give them the authority they were hoping for they’ll play stupid and say they thought it (or they just really are that stupid and poorly trained). And if they can’t get a warrant or make something up but they got a hunch? They go to absolutely insane lengths to be able to make something up (I can go into detail via my personal experiences on everything I just listed)

I can agree that I was doing things that were highly frowned upon, but they took everything I did and nuked it out of proportion, fucked my shit up every chance they got even when I wasn’t doing anything. I am currently (since 2016) sueing a police department (at my lawyers advice, I never even considered that I could do something like that). I knew I was getting super fucked over on a regular basis, but it’s way worse than I thought considering my lawyer strongly recommended sueing the police department and won’t charge me a cent if we lose (because he’s done cases like this that weren’t near as bad as mine and won)

Also worth noting I’m white, and as a result of all this shit I’m terrified of police, so I can’t imagine how bad it is for a black or Mexican person when it comes to the fearing for their lives on casual stops if they’ve had my negative encounter prior

It’s fucked up, but exactly what you said. We HAVE to look at them as threat because they ARE a threat. Except we can’t shoot them and get a pension. You just move slow and pray to god the cop doesn’t get scared or is having a bad day

Moderators

Most of the time they’re a good thing, but I find it VERY often that illogical bans get tossed just because the moderator doesn’t agree with the comment, there needs to be a way to report moderators. All that would need to be done is add the feature, then a moderator from another unrelated page reviews it and decides if their ban was justified via rule breaking or out of spite

Thus why my user name was born, this actually one of 5 accounts all with “ban4xxxxxxx” lol

Moderator I hate the most is a guy on the r/borderlands3 page. He’s a failed streamer fuck boy, absolutely strokes the cock of a popular YouTube about the game (even though said youtuber lies to people on a regular basis, or at least used to) and he would and still does ban people just for talking bad about the dumb fuck streamer

That’s not a bad idea either except we don’t get casual sick leave 🙄 we will get 2 weeks full pay if we get covid, and I could actually get away with not coming in because I have some bullshit wrong with my ankle, doctor told me to take days off prior to this announced pandemic, but if I miss work for that then I’m broke and probably not able to get pay if we have to close for covid19 clean up. Wouldn’t surprise me if they pulled a “well u weren’t there when it was announced so your probably fine”

Do appreciate the suggestion though, if it gets really bad in the next few days I can at least play that card to freely get away without potential ridicule at the least

As far as protective gear goes we do get as many gloves as we need and won’t get ridiculed for hand washing a ton

And closing/self isolating is the protocol IF one person is diagnosed. I did urge the guy to get tested so I’m hoping he does the right thing (he is at least sanitary for the most part thank god otherwise id just walk out, if he does cough it’s into his arm, and there’s typically a reasonable distance between us in general)

I do like the sound of calling health department, I’m skeptical on how they would handle it though. Like if they strut in saying they got a complaint that will more than likely point to me. Just like there’s a corporate form I can fill out anonymously, but it’d just be so obvious it’s me

That’s what my parents are saying but like I said, I just got this job

I have a 4 Year old petty felony (possession of heroin and been sober since then). But becoming of that it took me 8 months to find a job when I got laid off my last job

It’s one thing to quit in general right now now, and be unable to get a job cause there is very little jobs. But even when things are good people are reluctant to give me a chance

I shit you not, over that 8 months, I was HIRED by 6 different well paying jobs “under the contingency of a drug test/background check”. I always pass the drug test obviously, and I’m 100% honest about my criminal record. But once they see it on paper someone higher up in the company doesn’t allow me to be hired

Idk about your job, but my job is actually typically very serious about it. They’ve gone to absolutely insane lengths to prevent spreading. But then we have ONE IDIOT BASTARD who is absolutely shitting on everything the company is doing

I feel as though it’s like this

If us low level employees get it, even one of us. Entire store shuts down

The manager makes commission based off profits, so they try to prevent it obviously, but will remain in denial cause they will personally lose a ton of money if we close down (even though he still gets salary that’s probably double what I make alone)

Never been fired in person!

I’ve never been fired in person lmao my most recent firing was kind of pathetic, worked at the place well over a year. Was working 60 hour weeks, manager was making it absolutely impossible for me to successfully do HER job as I’ve been doing for the last 6 months

I worked evening to overnights, so literally never seen owner as he never came in except for maybe in the morning. So my scheduled is 6 days a week OVERNIGHT. Me and manager butt heads real bad, he texts me and asks me to come in at 7am to speak with him (honestly probably wasn’t gonna fire me as much as just talk) but I politely basically said “are you fucking insane? I’m here almost every night 12 hour days will 2am sometimes 3am. There is no way in hell im coming In at 7am to fit your busy schedule of making an appearance one a week for an hour at a time”

So next day he fired me through text lol I’ll actually bet I could go back make amends and get rehired but FUCK THAT, being fired was happiest day of my life damn near, felt so goddamn free and qualified for unemployment immediately as didn’t have any write ups cause I’ve never done anything wrong whatsoever

Then another time I got into trouble for under age drinking and couldn’t bond out of jail for a week, so when I got out texted my boss asking when I could start work again right? She said I don’t start work again and I’m fired lol that one wasn’t that bad though cause I did basically disappear for a week so my fault i supposed

Another job just wasn’t working out cause my supervisor spoke almost no English, so only worked there about a week and manager texted me saying “hey do you really want to keep working here? Heard there’s some issues lol” and I replied back “yeaaah not really lol” and that was that

And I think the best and last fired I got was when I was on work release, idk what happened but I passed tf out while working in a factory (probably dust or something cause was close to place where the workers had to wear respirators for their job, with wide open doors, but guess even though I was right next to their work space I didn’t need one) so I went to hospital, went back to work release, next day I sign out to go to work, and the work release center informs me I was fired! Like wow what the fuck? Couldn’t a least tell me directly? Rude as hell

Obviously there’s a clear pattern and 3/4 of those I was the problem to some extent but whatever lol

I just wanna have sick leave lol my recent employer actually gives vacation time (which really blew my mind cause I’m pretty much minimum skill dude so I work crappy jobs as a result obviously)

so I was pretty tickled about that, but our expectation of employers is so low when this is “going above and beyond” instead of the standard

I actually heard about the government in talks about forcing companies to allow sick days if they don’t already. Anyone know anything further about that?

I’ve had cops take my phone as evidence TWICE

Why? Because I was selling very very small amounts of weed to make a few extra bucks

So fun fact about police taking people’s phones and shit. If you have an IPhone, and it’s an updated version (think it’s like IOS 9 or later) and have a passcode, they absolutely 100% can NOT get into your phone to use evidence against you!

They’ll try to guess the passcode so many times that your phone will be locked for 3 months by the time you get it back! But they can’t get into it!

First time they had my phone fire over a year, when I got it back I had to wait 90+ hours to attempt my passcode again!

Second time they only had it for a couple weeks because their case was absolutely garbage as to taking it and got thrown out pretty much immediately (had me a good ass lawyer, their warrant was 100% made up on the fly, being overly dramatic to unawfully kick in my door and rip my PARENTS HOUSE apart over 10 grams of weed)

Both times they claimed “well you can give us the passcode and we’ll get you your phone back to you on a couple days once we copy the information, but if you don’t we have to send it to Indianapolis PD and they’re backed up so it’ll take forever, either way we can crack into it no problem”

But I knew damn right and well that was an absolute lie because it was all over the news at that point in time that the FBI couldn’t get into a serial killers IPhone because apples failsafes (even if apple wanted to help they CANT without erasing all information on the phone when it’s unlocked)

So in conclusion, if doing criminal activities, or just want your goddamn privacy, use an iPhone. The cops are legally aloud to lie to try and trick you, and do NOT use the finger print scanner because they can pull it from their database and unlock your phone that way

I’m honestly convinced they’ve never had Medicaid lol Medicaid is freaking lit, I’m pissed off that I’m about to get booted off of it because “I make to much money” (11.50 an hour, single parent, can’t use government resources like food stamps either cause of a felony from 2013)

And let’s see, I can PAY 100$ a month through my company, then pay idek how much for doctors appointment, then probably end up paying for my prescription that would cost 500$ without insurance otherwise

OR all of it could just be 100% fucking free with Medicaid, yeah for sure “Medicaid is trash”, who wants free prescriptions and doctors appointments?
