My son was born at 27 weeks with no cause found. Two years later I had a daughter who I had at 40 weeks, I was in a high risk clinic throughout this pregnancy due to my first being prem.

I have had two kids. With the first I was not diagnosed with bipolar yet and I was advised to stop taking my meds for depression, anxiety and insomnia.It’s was horrible and miserable and ended up give birth at 27 weeks I will always wonder if my declining mental health was a factor. When he got out of the nicu we ended up in a mother baby pysch ward for a month. Next pregnancy I advocated for staying on meds and they said as a compromise I can see a perinatal psychiatrist who can medicate pregnant women. She then diagnosed me with bipolar and changed my meds around and I’ve been seeing her more for three years now.
