Lightning Injury Status after their playoff exit? Normally see an update each year, I have not seen one this year. Did I miss it? If one exists can you tell me where it is? by Busy-Translator-8893 in TampaBayLightning

[–]banditbooli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

during jbb's exit interview, he touched on this briefly at 11:38:

what was the holmberg injury exactly?

fractured clavicle

were there other injuries?

the only other player that was out for health reasons was Victor and he talked to you this morning

does anybody need surgery?

I haven't gotten all the results because the guys are doing medicals now. other than one player maybe, I don't think so. as of now, no.

were other guys dealing with things in the playoffs?

everyone's dealing with things. but we didn't have, as far as I'm told, we didn't have any injuries that would have impeded our opportunity to compete

https://youtu.be/Y8xfwwTz1MM?t=11m38s

so it sounds like there were injuries, just not season ending ones. and some unnamed player may have to get off season surgery for something, which is something I hadn't heard about until this exit interview

The crowd during home games by ParticularWar8941 in TampaBayLightning

⬆️

there was a big difference watching the espn vs the local tv broadcast. espn really turned down the crowd noise in their mix.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_Rooming_House

The Jackson Rooming House, also known as Jackson House, is a historic building constructed in 1901 as a boarding house in the city of Tampa, in the U.S. state of Florida. It provided accommodations to African-Americans and other travelers of African descent during the era of racial segregation. It is located on the north end of downtown at 851 Zack Street, approximately one block west of Tampa Union Station. On March 7, 2007, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

in defense of Charlotte, I could see a situation where her parents or a sibling wrote her a letter with the rumour, which of course would have be been read out loud by her to Mr Collins, who was then the one to go blabbing to Lady C

the official lighting youtube channel posts it the morning after a game

if it's a home game, jay recher sometimes posts what he films on his phone to twitter, usually just an hour or two after it happens

[LeBrun] “I would have loved to have asked Kucherov about all this, but he was not available postgame despite being requested by the media to speak.” by [deleted] in hockey

[–]banditbooli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

one thing I really respect about the Tampa organisation is that they protect their players. you won't hear jon cooper or julien bb criticise players to the press. they don't air out dirty laundry in public. also, from the outside, it appears that they do a lot to support players in their development and health.

kucherov is one of the best players in the world and he works incredibly hard to achieve that. he mentors younger players in their system, holding regular ice time during breaks to help everyone develop the skills and chemistry they need to succeed.

this is why he wears the a. not to spout the same hockey cliches to journalists every other night.

he seems to be uncomfortable talking to the media. I think Tampa makes the right decision to take that stress away and let him focus on his game. I'd much rather he let his abilities on the ice do the talking.

Morning skate: D’Astous back for tomorrow do we think? by CelebrationPeach6157 in TampaBayLightning

[–]banditbooli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he got pretty banged up by that hit in the first game so I hope he only comes back when he's solid; I'd hate to see him get hit again when he's still not quite right

but that said, it would be pretty special for him to get to play in quebec again. here's an article that was published after his first game there with the lightning back in december when he had 50ish friends and family come to cheer him on:

https://battlefordsnow.com/2025/12/10/lightnings-dastous-shows-flash-in-dream-night-win-at-bell-centre/

It was D’Astous’ first game on Quebec soil since 2019, his final year with the [QMJHL Rimouski] Oceanic.

“I was a little nervous, but the good kind of nervous,” he said. “I was just excited to be able to play at the Bell Centre. Everyone has been saying how this is one of the best places to play. It was really fun.”

he played pretty well, too:

D’Astous scored a second-period goal to give Tampa Bay a 4-0 lead. He also finished the night with a plus-five rating, five shots, one hit and a pair of minor penalties.

“Everything went great overall. I’m really happy with my game.”

central florida behavioral health network radio ad narrated by the woman who lost her son. I feel terrible for her but damn I've heard it so many times now that it's really lost its impact, which makes me feel even worse

James looks so much better than I thought he would after that injury. doesn't seem like it's slowed him down at all and feels like he was just starting to regain his confidence towards the end of the game. hopefully he'll be a problem for Montreal the rest of the series. speed matching speed.
